Hi, welcome. I am 21 and just joined 3 weeks ago. It is great to keep an eye on what you are eating as before I had no clue.

hi there and welcome to a great site.0

Thank you, I will.
My biggest problem is that I eat late at night. Thats my hugest thing.0 -
I do that sometimes but that is usually when I have skipped breaksaft or had little for lunch.
Eat throughout the day rather than late and night - I should learn from this advice too ;-)0 -
Welcome, and we're all rooting for you! I'll repeat the best advice already offered -- take advantage of snacks between breakfast and lunch and after lunch -- that will prevent your being famished by the evening. And if you take the sugars out of your diet, you'll crave less. You can do it!0

Welcome! I have found that if I make a "rule" for myself, then I'll follow it. So, my rule is no eating past 9 PM - If I want a snack, I can have it but it has to be before 9... Just an idea!
Anyway, good luck on your journey! MFP has been a great place to have questions answered and to find the support you need. I have fallen off of this wagon more than once, but it is easier knowing I'm not alone! :-)0 -
Hi! I eat late at night as well. I usually eat dinner at 9PM and I still get hungry after dinner sometimes! If I need to snack on something at night, I would eat fruits. I don't think eating late at night will make you gain weight as long as you eat healthy foods and not junk!
Hope that helped a little0 -
Thank you everyone for the help. I have alwways had bad eating habits. I started working when I was thirteen so I would go to school then go straight to work then Id get off at 9pm and I would pig out because I did not eat all day. I guess I just stuck with that habit. But knowing that I have support willl help tremendously . Good luck to all of you and your goals as well.

I am 45 and trying to lose 40 pounds +. This website has been a really effective tool since I am logging everything I eat and it calculates the calories and nutrition for me.. I have been much more careful!! Good luck to you.. Let us know how your progress goes!0

Log obsessively and read the forums as much as possible for information, recipes, etc. Also, start new exercises that you've never done before on top of your normal fun activities. The weight should melt off as long as you stay on track
Also, if you eat huge meals, start preparing food ahead of time. Eat more in the morning, less for lunch, and keep it light to moderate for dinner. Get some way to avoid snacking - fruit/veggies between meals, going for walks, chewing gum, etc.
Get your friends, family, coworkers, EVERYONE involved. They'll support, motivate, encourage, etc. when you're going through a rough spot. If you can get a gym buddy, even better!
Best of luck!0 -
Welcome,
Just start walking and doing what you can do. I love Leslie Sasone walking away the pounds DVD's. Start with her 1 and 2 miles and when you lose some weight increase what you do. Your weight may not be affecting you much right now but take my word for it, it does catch up with you. Knees start hurting, etc. Good luck to you.0 -
Welcome to the site. You will find a lot of support here. We are all trying to be healthier and lose weight so you are not alone. I like Leslie Sansone's Walking DVD's for a gentle at home workout. I love walking so I try and walk outside everyday. I would encourage you to start out easy and work your way up to a longer walk at a more challenging pace. As your weight comes off your stamina will increase. Good for you for making the change you need to be a healthier you. :flowerforyou:0
