So are there any 'groups' out there for those of us who want to be a hottie by our 40th birthday??? I have seen a couple of you out there who are like me and joined the site to lose weight by the time we hit 40!!! Would love a little support group for those of you who are like me!!!! I hit the big 4 - 0 in November!!!!!
I am fairly new to the site so I don't know if we actually create a 'group' or just become 'friends'...but I'd love some "I'm pushing 40" support either way!!!! Any takers???

Hi Lori,
Welcome to MFP! This place is great!! I'll be 42 in June, so I'm a little bit ahead of you...but I was in that same place nearly 2 years ago. I wanted to be in the best shape ever by the time I hit 40. I did it, and so can you!
I'll be here to help encourage you along the way. I found out that if I want to continue being a "hottie" (lol!) that I have to keep working at it. I can't get lax in my efforts. I slacked off about a year ago and gained some weight back, so I'm working harder to get it back off again. I am struggling to get my body fat percentage down; which is mainly in my lower body. My weight itself is fine - I'm not hear to lose weight - just here to get healthy, lower my body fat percentage, and to stay accountable. I hope to help others while I'm here!
You can reach your goals! Just take it one day at a time and keep logging your food and exercise. Great job on the 8 pound loss already! Shows you can do it!!

I'll join you on that one! I hit 40 this past February and have been determined since the Fall prior to get myself in the best shape of my life. I succeeded in reaching my goal of doing a marathon before I turned 40 (did it Jan 10, turned 40 Feb 19!). I still have other running goals, like beating my first half marathon time at my upcoming run in May and then doing the Marine Corps Marathon in October, but right now I'm focusing on losing my muffin top! I want to be bikini ready by this summer! So, let's do this together!!0

You guys sound similar to me, yet I'm 41, pushing 42! I'd be happy to be part of a support group too. I'm just looking to be a reduced weight by the time school is out this summer for my kids. I've had a set back with a calf muscle tear this past week so it'll be a month before I'm really back at exercising full on, but I'll try to do my best at eating right and atleast doing upper body exercises. I'm very pleased with my 4 lb weigh loss this March and I strongly attribute this to MFP.0

I'm with all of you! I just turned 40 and it hit me in the head that this is it - get your act together NOW! It also doesn't hurt that hubbie and I are going on a week long getaway without the children, too! I have less altruistic reasons for getting healthy - I just want a really nice picture of my husband and I, and I want to be wearing a smoking hot dress and look good in it!
Lost 10 so far, got about 15 more to go...I'm hoping I can do it by July 1st! Either way, I'm enjoying the changes I'm noticing now!0 -

LOL...I am so with you on the picture thing! My hubby and I went to Mexico last summer without the kids and the very few pictures I agreed to take....um...don't really enjoy looking at them. We are going back this summer with our two kids and my hubby's entire family and I want a GREAT family picture of the four of us on the beach!!!! Also...as soon as we sell our house (the sign JUST went up today) we will start building our new home...and I want a GREAT family picture on our wall!!!!

Hi
I joined mfp a couple of weeks ago -- happy to see others in my "category". No weight loss yet (actually gain -- too much traveling for work = too much eating out). I hit 40 last October and didn't get to my goal "hottie" weight. So, I will join in too and try to get there by 41. I did at least do a lot of working out and managed to rehab a torn knee without surgery by 40 -- so I will take being able to walk over the hottie body -- at least for this year
Let's prove the myth wrong that we slow down after 40! I plan to be in better shape when I hit 50!0 -
It's a new week and Easter is past, along with kids' spring break. My calf muscle is much better but not jogging or pushing it yet. I'm back walking the kids to / from school along with taking the dog out for +/- 25 minute walks. I've begun doing one or two 10 minute Exercise TV routines and have found some different muscles to use. I'm happy to be a bit more active again after last week's convalescent time.
I hope all of you are continuing your challenges!0 -
Hi Everyone! I already love being 40! I have lost weight, gained muscle, completed a marathon and just signed up for my next one this coming October. Woo hoo! I give lots of credit to Team In Training and Beachbody for helping me reach my goals. I haven't met all of them yet, but I'm on my way.
Tomorrow, my husband is throwing me a 40th birthday party at a winery not far from our home. Complete with cheese and crackers, wine tastings AND a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN (my favorite!) I have friends from childhood, college and grad school coming to celebrate. I feel so blessed. One friend is even flying in from Maine. I'm teary eyed just thinking of it. Well, have a great weekend everyone!
