When I had my son, I gained a lot of weight (60lbs) and lost all of my muscle. And when I am at the gym, I have no idea what to do.
I probably look like a lost puppy while I'm in there...
I want to do a lot of cardio for the weight lose and then do a little muscle build at the end of my gym session...
Any suggestions on a good workout plan?

You should do weight training first. Then do cardio at the end of your session. Break up your workout days. I like to do chest and triceps one day, Back and Biceps another day, legs on another day. You can hit abs each day if you want. I'm not an expert. You can search on Youtube for gurus. I follow Darin Steen, Physiques of Greatness, Scott Herman, The Hodge Twins. All of those guys are very entertaining and smart. I take tips from all of them. Like the Hodge Twins say, "You can do whatever the heck...you wanna do!!!"
  • Thanks! I'll check those guys out.

I have found that changing my workouts helps. It keeps me entertained and my body doesn't get use to it. Every 20lbs I loose I notice a stop loosing. But when I change things up a bit then I start melting away.

I have a gym membership that offers lots of classes, that helps. I do yoga and zumba a couple of days a week. Then I do my own stuff the next week.

I do cardio before weights its just how I like it.

For weights I work with the machines, I focus on really FEELING the work in the muscles I'm supposed to, not just how much I'm lifiting. I started with 3 reps of 10, now I do a rep of 10, then 20, then 10 again. My last 10 I make sure I'm working the muscles I want. I only give myself 3 to 5 deep breaths between reps, I want to keep my heart rate going.

For cardio its whatever I feel like. I do bikes, the rowing machines and tredmill. I have a Nook, so I prop that up after I've plugged in my time and just go with it. It really makes the time fly by!

This is just want *I* do and what works for me.

    Good Luck!
