Advice needed after serious health issues

Hey guys,
Been a long time, I've been out of the game for a while. Had a serious kidney, gall bladder and lung infection for about 3 months, then a developed a very large cyst.
I still have my cyst but my doctor said its perfectly safe to do high impact excercise, however due to the infections I had early this year my stamina and body took a serious beating. What would you guys recommend that I do? I really want to do the 30 day shred as I felt this really helped my stamina or couch to 5k? I have literally done no excercise over the past 6 months so any advice would be great
thanks,
Han x

I'd say you need to listen to your body and don't try to jump right back into high intensity exercising. You may not get the same burn but you're still getting fit. And your going to be really worn out and in pain if you try to go back to what you were doing before. Start slow - go for walks, use lower weight and gradually work your way up. I think it'd be ok for you to do 30DS but don't go into it thinking you'll do all 30 days in a row. Instead plan on doing every other or every couple days.
Take care of yourself and listen to what your body is telling you. If you're tired, take a rest day!0 -

If your doctor says you are fine to get back in the gym, I personally would recommend 3-5 days cardio and then 3-5 days of weight training but start light and see how your body keeps up. Circuit training is a great way to start. Hit every body part for a couple of rounds thru, 3+ times a week along with the cardio. I never lifted a weight in my life and 3 years ago that's how I started.
Good Luck!0 -
thanks for the advice x0
