37lbs lost since August 1, 2012

I started my weight loss journey on August 1, 2012 by joining my hair salon's biggest loser contest. Somehow my competitive nature catapulted me into tracking my diet and exercise on MFP. I won the competition (and $900) on September 26th and on September 27th started the C25K program. I jogged in my first race on Thanksgiving--a 5K. Two days ago I ran a 4mi race. I am going to continue with my jogging and work on getting faster and stronger.

I never thought I could get such results, as I am insulin resistant and have struggled to lose weight. I am on 1000mg of metformin/day and eat a low glycemic index diet, which does include carbs--just complex carbs.

I hope these photos work. I have lost a total of 37lbs as of today (from 287.4lbs to 250.4lbs). I am hoping to lose another 1.4lbs by the new year and another 83 total. Thanks for making MFP such an awesome space!
