i was able to eat 1,200 cals a year ago & now thats too little i feel starving..

what amount of calories & exercise should one have that is reasonable?

is 1,500 enough a day with a 300 cal exercise? input please :)

    Hi!
How tall are you and what is your CW?
I started off at 103 pounds at 5 foot 2.5". I netted <1200 calories/day for a week and I did lose about 1.5 pounds. However, it made me go insane because I became obsessed with food.

I tried 1480 last week and I went something like 500 calories over my quota one day. Overall though, my weeky calorie consumption just barely met my goals. Bad the bad news is that I didn't lose any weight.

So now I'm trying to net 1300 so I can lose about 0.5 pounds per week.

    Hope this helps!

By the way, you look beautiful in your profile pic. :D

That is because you are starving. And 10 mile runs + 1200 calories equal good buy muscle. Look at the link above, it will give your estimate caloric needs. It's probably around 1800+

When you gained it was probably mostly fat (grant it, you develop muscle to support a heavier frame), when you lost, it was probably a combination of fat and muscle. If you want to be toned and fit, then you have to start eating more sensible (a moderate deficit = 1/2 lb per week + workout calories) and a workout routine that includes a lot of heavy weight training and moderate running (the less the easier it will be to cut fat). And if you can do HIIT instead of steady state cardio.

Also, if you want to look fit, don't look at the number. I could have you gain 10-20 lbs of muscle and you would look better than when you did at 120.
