Denver - Needing some support!

Hey everyone. I'm new to myfitnesspal I started my journey of weightloss back in January of 2003. I used to be about 350 lbs. A year and a half ago I was down to 235 and feeling pretty good. However... this last year and a half I've really let myself go... I'm back up 30 lbs... and I am FED UP! I can't stand it. Clothes that I've had for years I cannot wear right now... I was proudly wearing a Large at 235... started going back to some of my XL's though... and now... a good number of those shirts are getting too tight... back to an XXL??? NO BUENO! Also was wearing 38's and I'm back to 44s... NOT HAPPY!
Now granted... I don't have a 54 inch waist any longer and am not wearing 4XL shirts... and I still look and feel infinitely better than I did at 350 lbs. But as I mentioned-- this is getting out of control! I found this site today and I am READY to be commited. One thing I've noted that has changed although I've always been a drinker... my drinking has gotten out of control. So as a part of this journey that begins today I am cutting back on alcohol BIG time... I'm going to focus on making it these 5 days without consuming alcohol at all. Then we'll see what the weekend holds. One day at a time right?
Please feel free to friend request me. Please feel free to write. Please let me know how I can help you.

The Denver area folks have monthly get-togethers!
Here's a link to January's planning thread, join the group (click on Mile High MFP at the top of the thread, green join group button on the main page) ... we're very active. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/815337-january-anniversary-meetup
The monthly meetups are really more social than anything else - I plan a group fitness event that typically allows any fitness level to participate, and then a lunch to get to know each other after. The cool thing about these meetups is that you can actually meet and get to know people that may share other fitness interests. We have cyclists, runners, hikers, and folks like me that are just working out to maintain our drinking habits.0 -
I'm not in Denver but I'm here to support you with whatever. I have a lot of great tricks to stay full and be healthy at the same time. Also, I used to have the same problem with alcohol (wine specifically). I wasn't an alcoholic but I loveedd my wine. When I began to lose weight I just faced up to the fact that I cannot keep drinking my calories so I just stopped. Best decision I've made.0

I'm a little north of Denver, but Colorado is so awesome because we have such a high percentage of people who give a *kitten* about fitness!
There's plenty of activities you can get involved in, 5ks, mud runs in the summer, trail runners...etc. I'm also 11 months sober and not looking back, so let me know if you need support in the process of quitting drinking (if thats what you decide). Good luck! Let me know if you need support!
