C25K on the treadmill?

Right, given up on the idea of running outside today. Has anyone tried c25k on a treadmill? I hate using it for walking as I find it boring and get much hotter. Also, the app I use for c25k uses GPS, and tells me how many calories I burn, distance etc, so not sure if it'll be any good for the treadmill?
Does anyone use a home treadmill to do it and if so, what programme and how do you measure calories burned?
Thanks xx

I've always used the information from this website for running inside on the treadmill:

I use my heart rate monitor to track calories burned on my treadmill.0

I don't have one yet, but thank you x0

I used the timed app for my android phone and manually bumped the speed up and down on my treadmill. I also only use my treadmill while watching netflix (or something...) I kind of have set the rule that if I want to watch tv I have to "earn it." (something that I have been slacking on lately)
ETA: my treadmill calculates calories burned for me, but I primarily go by my fitbit.0 -
There's lots of apps that just give the cues for when to run and when to walk, or you can print off the schedule from CoolRunning and follow it on the timer. I wouldn't count on the calorie burn from an app to start with because it's just taking generic numbers.0

I'm doing the c210k on the treadmill . YES it IS boring but a means to an end in these weather conditions. I either shove the tv on plug In my iPod .0

There is an app for that.0

coolrunning.com (I think that's it, the same website that doees C25K) has a C25K app for treadmill running so it tells you the pace and doesn't use GPS0

You certainly can do it on a treadmill You will be very pleasantly surprised when you can get back outside as well your run can be up to 45 seconds faster Keep in mind though not to run or walk for that matter on a treadmill with a 0% incline. You won't get as much out of it! Try starting with a 2% incline with is more consistent with the great out doors.0

Also have you considered buying a heart rate monitor? They are pretty cheap unless you want the bells and whistles and very effective.0

I have done the whole program on a treadmill. I can't say it was fun but it worked...lost a lot of weight and got more toned in the most needed areas. I just went by the calories the treadmill gave me although I can't imagine it was super accurate. HRM's would be your best bet. I didn't really care about how many calories I was burning at that point though.0

You can do it on a treadmill, sure! Use the distance on the treadmill, and you can use the calories too, if you don't have an HRM in the budget. The calorie algorithm used by treadmills is on par with the accuracy of most HRMs.0
