I just got into juicing myself after watching the documentary Fat, Sick, and Almost Dead by Joe Cross. He gets healthy (even gets off prescriptions) and loses a ton of weight fasting on juice for 60 days. I am not fasting but adding it do my diet to get more nutrition--to use my calories for healthy items.
I've been using these recipes from the following website: http://myjuicecleanse.com/juicer-recipes/mean-green-juice-recipes/
Mean Green Juice (original)
This is the official recipe used by Joe Cross and Phil Staples according to the Reboot Program.
6 Kale Leaves
1 Cucumber
4 Celery Stalks
2 Green Apples
1/2 Lemon
1 piece of ginger
Mean Green Juice #2
handful spinach
3 stalks of kale
2 golden delicious apples
small handful parsley
1 lemon
1 cucumber
Mean Green Juice #3
2 stalks celery
1/2 cucumber
1/2 apple
1/2 lemon
small piece ginger
1/2 green chard leaf
bunch cilantro
5 kale leaves
handful spinach
Mean Green Juice #4
1/2 pear
1/2 green apple
handful spinach
handful parsley
2 celery stalks
1/2 cucumber
small piece ginger
slice of papaya
NOTES FOR MAKING JUICE
■peel or slice off lemon rind leaving some of the white pith
■to juice small leaves such as parsley and cilantro, roll them up into a ball to compact the leaves
■wash all vegetables and fruits before making juice
■buy organic if possible
I hope this helps and wish you good health, energy and weight loss!!0 -
I've started juicing too and I find that any of the recipes with ginger are just tooooooo potent for me to take. Also, if you're JUST starting, go easy on the beets. Apparently they can cause a "detox reaction" where they clear up too many toxins our of the liver at once and cause you to vomit... at least that's how my bad reaction to my first beet/carrot/yam juice was explained to me. It was a terrifying spectacle....0

I just learned of the yummiest juice. Juice a bunch of apples and heat the juice in a pan over the stove. Add some cinnamon and drink it. Tastes like apple pie and is extremely satisfying!!!
In the morning I drink this
melon, cranberries, orange and apple juice
In the evening I drink beet, spinach, celery, cucumber, carrot, ginger, apple juice. Yumm and soooo healthy.0 -
Carrots and Parsley then a squeeze of lemon juice!0
