Hi,

Does anyone know what calories you burn while your doing housework? I do a good few hours doing my own home but i do 3 days cleaning other houses each house takes 3 hours.
Has anyone any ideas?

    I found it in search under cardiovascular...hope that's what is says, under exercise. but I'm not to far off. I think I just typed in housework , or cleaning........it gives two types , one is vigorous and the other is less active. But if housework doesn't work try cleaning, it's been awhile since I searched it, now it's on my list all the time.:happy: By the way I love your kitty cat, I just adore cats:love:

    Think like 71 calories per 30 minutes and that is light moderate cleaning. Thats sounds good to me I do at a minimal 30 min each day in my house. Hope that helps.

    I've worn my HRM, and have clocked in at about 250 calories in serious housework (including mopping, dusting and vacuuming) I also wear my iPod, so there's probably some "booty shaking" mixed in there.

    That just gives you an estimate. It's in the cardio exercises here under "Housework". The numbers it gives have been pretty accurate in my experience.

    I get all my activities at www.caloriesperhour.com. I love it, it has just about everything you can think of. I also do professional cleaning, and it burns quite a lot for me.
