Im Getting Too Tired to Exercise

The baby has about a 1 hour nap in the afternoon. This is when I clean and make more formula for him. Once he gets to bed around 8pm, I am really too tired to exercise. I have a home gym in the basement and an ellipical. It hasn't been getting much use this week because I just feel too tired. Every few days we go for a walk with the stroller and I play badminton Tuesday nights. I am eating 1500 cal a day because that is my 500cal deficit. I have lost some weight slowly. It took me 6 weeks to lose 5lbs. What can I do to bump up my energy and burn, burn, burn!

Oh please people give some advice! I am sooo glad you asked. I am in the same boat with a 6yr old, 3 yr old and 5 month old all i want to do is sleep! I was doing so well with working out in the evening but now that it is dark at 5pm i have such a hard time getting out after the kids are in bed.0

I would suggest increasing your calorie intake. Bump it up by 200 calories for now. That is what I did and I unplateaued. Perhaps it can increase your weightloss but it will give you more energy. I'm no profession. This is a mere suggestion that has worked with me. It may or may not work for you.0

I agree with the previous posters, I was getting run down too, and upping my calories a little gave me an extra boost. When there are little kids it's hard, I know.0

How old is the baby? Is the baby good in the playpen or swing for 20 minutes if you put it in the same room as your exercise equipment? Can you get up 30 minutes earlier in the morning? Can hubby give you a break so you can work out? Can you hire a neighbor teen or a niece or someone to come in for an hour and watch the baby while you work out?0

Baby carrier, elliptical, GO!! Lol that's what I had to do, my little guy is incredibly needy!!
(I found the forcing myself to even do a slow walk with him helped me to up my energy rather then make it worse)0 -
I *have* to exercise first thing in the morning otherwise it will not get done. Period.
I have two little ones and most nights they put ME to bed.0 -
My baby doesn't wanna stay anywhere unless he's sleeping (even sleeping he can move all over the place) lol. My back would be broken if I put him in a carrier on the ellipical! He's 20lbs plus I broke my neck before - NOT GOOD. Daddy babysits when I play badminton on Tues nights. All other nights he works late. I guess I'm gonna have to exercise when he's sleeping after lunch - housework will have to wait til late night when he's sleeping again. It's the only way I see beccause I sure as hell don't want to be fat!0

when that baby is napping, hit the elliptical! Then when he's awake, put him in a swing and clean. That's just what I used to do.....0

That's too bad, hope you can find something that works for you. I know once mine was too heavy to pack around it was almost impossible to get any exercise done until he got old enought to somewhat entertain himself...0

I am I crazy to think that 5 pounds in 6 weeks is good?0

1/2 the battle is developing the exercise habit. So with that - even a 10 minute session is better than nothing. I'm a super busy person too, so I'm struggling to find the time, however I'm obsessed with "keeping the ball" rolling and if some of my work outs are less than optimum, then at least I showed up and did _something_ . (adjust food intake accordingly)0

We really do put a lot of pressure on ourselves, don't we? I remember trying to lose the weight after my second child and being so exhausted all the time. Exhaustion itself can make weight loss hard - you crave coffee and sugar to keep you going. Try to find times when you can rest properly as we'll as times to exercize.0

It is very good.0 -
My son LOVED it when I would put him in the baby carrier and workout! He would laugh the whole time which was a great motivator for me.0
