Why am I doing this?

Sooo frustrated. Got about 7 pounds to lose. I'm within healthy weight range but hate my back fat. Been battling for months on this site but weight isn't coming off.
I'm beginning to wonder why I'm doing it. Lots of other people's motivations, like being able to play with the kids and buying clothes from normal shops isnt an issue for me. How can I keep going when I am not meeting my goals?
I suppose I need to focus on why I'm doing this but motivation is waning.

I get like this this at times, with an already small frame people just tell me "you don't need to loose weight, you're already skinny" it pisses me off! Personally the thought of seeing new changes motivates me, I remember how great I feel looking at how far I've come and it pushes me to keep going.
When you don't have much to lose it takes a long time and can be really frustrating but it's worth it in the end.
If all else fails I just think, we'll, my body doesn't care if I'm motivated or not, I'll get the same results regardless so I may as well just put in the effort.
Edit to say: and to be honest it doesn't matter why at the end of the day, someone asked me why I train so hard and I honestly couldn't come up with anything, that hasn't changed my results though.0 -
It is frustrating to not get the results you are aiming for, but don't give up. The results aren't always on the outside, I'm sure working out is making you healthier in other ways too.0

I suppose I'm quite driven by targets and I can't see/ measure anything. I took new photos recently and I can't see any change nor are my measurement changing. I am not having any problems keeping to my calories and at least I'm not gaining I suppose but I want to see rewards.0

At first sight I don't see anything wrong with your diet and exercise, so I get why you can be frustrated when you don't see the results.
I guess it's just going to be about going back to why you're doing that.. Or I don't know maybe you have clothes you want to fit in, or you want to look amazing on the beach next summer... But in any case you've come so far already, you don't want to go back where you were do you?
Also, you could try all the things people have done to break a plateau, changing something in your workout (or diet) can be like a new start and you get motivation back because you're hopeful it will finally make you lose weight again.
Hope you find a way to break this plateau!! Good luck and eventually your dedication will show!0 -

what exercise/training do you do?0 -
At the moment I'm doing Chalean Extreme. I was running but too scared of slipping in the ice.0

i have found i got the biggest results doing strenght training, but these wont neccessarliy be reflected on the number on the scale, but you will look better!
with only a few pounds to lose you need to be patient, and also keep a close eye on your diet - plenty of protein, few 'treats', lots of fruit & veg. and also make sure your deficit isnt too large, 1/2lb per week, or 250cal deficit is all you need.
the thing is though, you have already made good changes, and are healthier and fitter thanks to those changes - thats why you are doing it! chin up!0 -
Patience with such things cannot be overrated.
I got to within 5lbs of my target about 4 months ago and just couldn't lose any more despite trying a few things. So I kept the calories at half a pound a week loss and after six weeks a measly half a pound finally shifted. Then no loss.....for another six weeks or so....and then another half pound. So I have come to the conclusion that I'll just have to be patient and accept half a pound every six weeks!!0
