Congrats to Susan, looks like you had a great week. As a group, we did great this week, lets keep it up!!!!

Personally, I have 3 pounds to go to hit my goal, but in reality, from where I am now, I would like to lose 10 pounds of fat and gain about 7 pounds of muscle. I still have big love handles. My new workout plan is to now do weights on Mon and Thurs, run on Tues and Fri, and I start golf league on Wed. I have also set up my calories to lose 1.5 pounds per week now instead of 2 pounds per week.

Great job everyone!!!0

Boy Jack you sure are busy. I am happy with my loss given that I ate in restaurants for almost 2 weeks. The walking in my sketcher shape-ups must have helped. I lost an inch off my hips.
Renae - weekends are hard. I am the biggest offender.

congrats to all the loosers!!! That always sounds so wrong!!
Anyway.....Sounds like a lot of us though are wanting to get tougher on ourselves. So here is a challenge.....besides all the stuff we are suppose to do anyway.....record our food, and excercise regularly..... Everyday.....we have to come on line and tell everyone one positive thing that happened to us that day, or that we did EXTRA above what we are suppose to do!!!......Like we walked an extra 10 minutes, or we walked at lunch time when we normally don't....whatever our little steps are!!!!
I hope everyone makes it a great week and we are all loosers next week!!! !;)0 -
I forced myself to eat something for breakfast - that is unusual for me. My stomach doesn't wake up until about 2 hours after I do

Evening team...Congrats to all the losers. I seem to lose a pound or two during the week and find it before Sunday:laugh: I have got to get tougher on myself, get back to measuring food, drinking more water, etc., the stuff I know I should be doing daily. I had a good day today, made it to the gym. I ran the outside trail and then did an extra 15 minutes on the treadmill before doing the Nautilus circuit twice. I am still doing my sit-ups and push-ups (girlie) on gym days too. I'm just eating too many calories too many days. I will stay within my calories this week.
Today I measured my foods before I ate them. That is my extra step. Thanks for the challenge, Ann!
Hope you all have a great evening.
P.S. Thanks for doing our chart, Jack. We appreciate you!0 -
Morning,
As difficult and painful as it was, I said no to desert last night. I stuck with the healthier option of having some almonds. Even though I eat the Smart Ones WW deserts, they are still 140-170 calories, so I resisted the temptation.
Oh yes, I also threw in 25 medicine ball crunches into my workout last night. If you are looking for a great AB exercise, those will do the trick. I could feel the burn almost instantly.
Have a good day. Hawkeye0 -

KAY Hawkeye......what are medicine ball crunches and how do you do them???? I have a feeling they are with that big ball thing but I don't have one of those.0 -

Well I am sure there are many ways to do them, but here's how I do mine. The medicine ball is the basketball size ball that comes in various weights, 2lbs, 3lbs...10lbs, etc.. I have my wife stand on my toes since I can't do a sit-up without that, and with the ball in hand I proceed to do sit-ups while throwing the ball to her as I come to the up position. She throws the ball back to me as I am coming down. The weighted ball and conjunction with the sit-up will heavily work your abs. To start off, I would recommend the lightest ball or even no ball at all and just do the sit-ups. I call them crunches, but they are more sit-ups with a bonus than anything else. Here's an example to check out. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/strengthening/free_weights/medicine_ball_crunch.php
Good luck and let me know how it goes. I can tell you that they do work!

I am very disappointed in myself, that I am slipping into old ways. Eating popcorn for one. And letting the weekends get a little out of hand. But I am trying to get back on track, but the next few weeks are busy with lots going on. Went to step aerobics last night. Did boot camp style this week, burnt 536 cals.
Going to hit the treadmill right away and try W5D1 of C25K, then when I take son to school I think I may do either the shorter walk, or the 3km walk around town.0 -

Thanks Hawkeye! I am going to try them. I do crunches but this sounds like it would be an added boost that I need!
On my way to check out the website!0 -

Renae....Good for you to pick yourself up and keep going. I am impressed with the W5D1.....I made it the first week, and my knees were screaming. Just can't do the run thing. Good for you to add something in to your normal routine. You will see the payoffs I just know it!!!0 -
Woo Hoo, just completed W5D1 of C25K - it was job for 5min, walk for 3min, repeat 3 times. I didn't think I could do it and did. Burned 325 cals.0

Here was my challenge Jack.0 -
Today I changed up my breakfast a little. I have been having a slimfast shake with a banana in it form weeks. I think my body is becoming immune to them or something. So.....this morning I had "whole wheat" toast with peanut butter. Was nice for a change. I find myself doing the same thing day after day so I either get bored with it or it just stops working! Yesterday....I forgot to post what I did. I chose to have Oatmeal for lunch instead of a normal type of lunch. That was kind of interesting and felt good about my choice all afternoon!

Sorry Ann, I missed that.
OK, yesterday, I did my normal weightlifting workout along with my normal walking around the track, and I came home and went on a 1.3 mile walk with the kids/dog.congrats to all the loosers!!! I took a zumba class at noon today instead of just walking. Boy did I sweat!!!
I had raw veggies for lunch with a light spinach dip.

Today I did my normal 3.5 mile run, 1 mile walk, and then tonight, I hit a large bucket of golf balls and I still may walk the dog yet tonight.0

Evening team...Had a busy day today. I worked for a while and then hubby and I took our youngest out to lunch at Ryan's and then to the $1 movie to see the new chipmunk movie. It was cute. After that we went to Academy Sports and bought my hubby's new kayak. It was on sale over $80 off so we grabbed it. He exceeds the weight limit in the first one we bought (only 200 pound limit) and it bends in the middle and collapses somewhat on him. We gave that one to our youngest son and got him a new one. He is ready to go to the lake tomorrow so kayaking will be part of my exercise. I am sooo ready!! I missed exercising today but I had a salad for lunch with FF dressing instead of the hot buffet food and dessert bar. See y'all tomorrow.
Jack...Just reading about your exercise makes me tired:laugh:0 -
Morning,
I hit the speed bag for about 1 hour last night and felt great afterwards. I burned about 400 calories which was also good because I ate more yesterday than normal.

WOW....what exactly is "zumba". The raw veggies and dip sounds wonderful!!!!0 -
Wow!!! I am impressed how everyone has stepped up to do something extra. What I find myself doing more and more is "running" up the steps in our house instead of just kind of pulling myself!!
That feels good to get to the top and not be winded anymore!!! Didn't make it to curves last night as I was not feeling well at all. Had Twirling lessons last night so didn't want to miss that. It was a great session. Feel much better this morning. Haven't decided what exactly I am going to do different or extra today.
Have a funeral to attend this morning, so that is never fun. I think I will go for an extra run/walk tonight after Curves!
Talk to you later and have a great day!

Evening team...I had a good day today. When I finished working, my hubby and I took our youngest to the lake to kayak for a while. It was so nice to get back out in the warm sun on the water. My son broke his paddle so I had to use it in two pieces to get back to the landing but I made it. I'm sure my arms got a good workout. My stomach is a little sick tonight so I had a light supper. Too bad I can't get in that habit! Hope you all have a good evening. See you tomorrow.0

I am down another pound today. So excited - but afraid I will gain it back over the long holiday weekend. It is supposed to warm here so I hope to be very active- perhaps turn over the soil in my garden, etc.
I want to lose 8 pounds in April. Ambitious but doable.
susan0 -
Morning,
Congrats on the one pound loss already this week Susan! I know what you mean about the holiday weekend, my wife is already planning a "big" dinner on Sunday, so something tells me there will be lots of leftovers.
As far as my extra effort yesterday, I did a few more sets than normal while lifting weights last night. Even though it was only a few more, I could really tell the difference. I also pushed myself a bit harded on the elipitical which yielded a few more burnt calories as well.
Have a good day everyone! Hawkeye0
