Is this bf% possible?

I just purchased a new scale that also "measures" bf. I know that scales that are not really expensive are not accurate and I didn't buy this scale for that feature. I am just curious if the reading it is giving me is even possible. Here are my stats:

I'm 5'10" and 200lbs. The bf is consistently reading between 28 and 29%.

Possible?

Maybe you could measure yourself and find out your body fat manually to see if it is right. I have no idea if it is possible or not.

Who knows? we cant tell from here how much lean muscle mass you have, its the percentage of lean mass to overall mass.

I'm 6'1 246lbs with 34% bf. I was 40lbs heavier and 7% higher on bf but i've been working on building muscle so the % moves more than the weight figure.

    Yes, this is possible.

Are you male or female? Women have higher BF% naturally, but my husband who is 6'1 and 97kgs (he is taller than you and lighter *I think*) has a high BF% I think it was 30 when we measured it.

Very high for a man, it just means his weight is fat rather than muscle.
  • I am female. I was a bit surprised by the number but more surprised that the scale has not varied much. I'll take 29%. Considering I was an athlete for most of my life this could be close. I'd like to have it measured professionally once I get down to a healthy bmi so I can make some future goals.
