Hey,

So I am trying to get into shape again - Dont let my main pic fool you, I have put on a little more weight since then lol. Half because of injury and half because of generally being lazy and thinking I was fine.

My get back into workout so far has been:

Gradient 15 (max) on running machine and typically walking between 4.0 - 5.0 (basically aim to burn 500cals on walk)

Then random weights...

All in all you can see I can get pretty lost after the treadmill. What work outs are generally good at burning fat for leg injuries? I have looked at programs but I find a lot I look at are a bit iffy.

Without exercise I am told that I should only eat 1200cals a day to get to my ideal weight.

Any advice appreciated

Cheers :)

Pretty sure that you should be on more than 1200 cals even without exercise. How tall are you? How much do you weigh? What is your injury?

A beginners weight program like StrongLifts 5x5 or Starting Strength would be a good place to start rather than 'random weights'.

1200 cal for a male is BS, just saying. Calculate your Basil Metabolic Rate. adjust your calories pertaining to your goals.

Does your leg injury prevent you from doing any particular exercise? Can't really suggest anything without this info.

    Apologies for lack of into,

new to this whole posting thing lol

My height is a very manly 5.6/7ish :p

My current weight is 169pounds (over 12 stone)..my current goal is 11 stone.

The injury is pretty bad shin splints that have been a nightmare to get rid of (I have been to rehab ect).

I cannot do any form of impact as the shock makes me whinge like a girl.

1200 cals was what was suggest by MyFitnessPal, but I could probably move it to 1500.

    Cheers for the reply.

Can you walk for any kind of distance? I would put you on 2k a day with an hour walk if you can't do anything more stressful because of your shins.

Thing is..i can do uphill walking on treadmill at an ok pace, and burn 300-500cals in an hr (15% gradient) without pain as there is little to no shock or impact (mad I know).

After I do the cardio...I get pretty lost, as I want to tone up..but have no sort of guidance - just jump on random machines and work out lol.

I dont want to look like a body builder, but just look toned and V shaped (bonus lol). Core strength is supposed to be great thing, and being able to life your own bodyweight.

i lift before i do any cardio. seems to work better for me. kinda rough to strength train when i'm fatigued from cardio.
