Come on... shouldn't laundry count for exercise?

I mean really... today I've made countless trips down the stairs to the laundry room.. bending over... picking up.. lugging that heavy laundry basket.. loading unloading .. bending over picking up.. lugging that lighter and cleaner laundry to the bedroom.. dumping ll leaning over, picking up.. up the stairs ..picking up.. putting away.. bending over... did I mention bending over?
Hours I have spent ... hours I say!!

Cleaning, either light effort or vigorous effort is listed under cardio. Sounds like you got a good workout to me!
  • I was thinking the same thing tonight! I'm 14 calories over for the day and hoped that a load of laundry would tip the balance back.

We have a 4 level split. I don't go right down to the bottom level that often....more when I didn't have the laptop upstairs though! But everything I do involves stairs. From TV room, it is upstairs (8 steps) to kitchen or our bedroom or laptop. From TV room, it is downstairs 8 steps to kids rooms and laundry. So MANY combinations of 8 or 16 steps in my day....and trust me, I do them alot!!!! Especially on a cleaning AND laundry day. Wow!!! I don't count them in...but I do count on them to balance things out if I have forgotten to log something or miscalculate food/exercise!!!! lol Always good to have them in my 'back pocket' hahaha
