Beginner Strength Training

Over the past 8 months I've lost 80 pounds and I feel like it's time to start toning. I've only done cardio for exercise and I'm really interested in learning more about beginner strength training. Does anyone have any links or advice that could help me? I have NO idea where to begin with this!

I'd recommend Mark Rippletoe's Starting Strength to get you started, it's more of a linear progression than other strength training programs which are % based so you'll see increases in strength a lot faster.0

I've had incredible success with Stronglifts 5x5. It starts you off with the bar only, focusing on proper form. As far as getting stronger and seeing definition, I'm ridiculously pleased.0
