Fitbit Question (I didn't know where else to put this)

So this doesn't get locked, I'm going to introduce myself saying "Hi, my name is Tyra"
now that that is over, I have a question.
I was wondering if the whole negative adjustment thing on my FitBit has to do with consideration as to some of those calories I burned were already taken into account with my BMR.

Well, I use an HRM also... say I burn 220 calories doing 25 minutes of activity. I'll log it, and my HRM says 220, but my Fitbit adjustment will be 145 calories extra.0

I feel like this wasn't the best forum place to put this question... sorry guys!0

I kind of think I understand what you're asking. Fitbit does not track anything outside of walking or running. So it will not track weight lifting or anything of that nature. If you took a 25 minute walk and your HRM says 220 then go with that because it is going to be more accurate. You can override what fitbit says by clicking on it in your exercise log and logging the activity time, start and calories burned.0

Yeah, that makes sense. I just wish I would have remembered what time I had started and stopped my activity.0 -
I'm guessing that the adjustment has to deal with BMR, because the difference is 71 and if I times that by 24, I get 1704, which makes sense because that is close to my estimated BMR. Because I already burnt those calories just because I'm alive and they are already accounted for into my daily goal.0

Don't be sorry Its a forum... ask whatever you need, where ever you need
As far as what your asking, Idk if I understand you fully?
When I log exercise, I log it and put in a time, and FitBit adjusts what I did based on the time I entered for the FitBit. But what I entered under exercise with my HRM comes 1st and foremost.
I've had 2 martinis... so maybe I'm just not getting what your saying0 -

Its all based on what you put as your activity level. On MFP and on Fitbit when you signed up. Supposedly Fitbit adjusts to your sleep and whatnot, and I usually burn "700" cals a night sleeping. Idk if thats right or not... When you enter exercise, you enter a time also, so that the your fitbit adjusts to your activity and doesn't double count it... I use my fitbit as a guide...but not a tell all.
My TDEE is 2700. My BMR is 1650. My fitbit says in a 24 hour period I burn about 2700-3000 calories. So all in all... pretty accurate. That is all I go by.0 -

I only have the FitBit zip... I already know I don't sleep well. hahaha
I'm also using it as a guide and not taking it as "Omg, this is exactly how many calories I have burned, I went over by four cals, OMG I'M GONNA GAIN WEIGHT" haha0 -
What type of HRM do you have? On my Polar FT4 if I go into 'training data' it gives the start time for each workout stored on there so I use that time when logging my workouts on fitbit.0

Click on the >search button in blue. Type 'fitbit negative'. Read the results. I know nothing about fitbits, but I assume this will help, there should be moderator posts on it too somewhere.0
