So, anyone else who tracks a day or more in advance like me?

I just wanted to know if there are a lot or a few people who track their meals/food a day or two in advance so they won't go over their limit. I started doing that now because I was eating higher calorie meals that didn't keep me full and this way I can plan out 4 smaller meals or 3 meals and one larger snack, however you look at it.

yes, i totally prefer this! i don't stick to it completely but it gives me a much clearer idea and say, for example, i want to work in a treat (almost every day hehe), i can fit that in in such a way that i don't exceed my calorie intake. or if i want a heavier dinner, i can adjust my diary for a light lunch. it's also better because you don't have to think about it on the day and i always end up forgetting something on my weekly shop, so if i know i will eat blah blah blah on saturday, i can shop for those extra items and any point in between : ) oh, there are so many advantages; but yes, i do track a day or more in advance!

It seems a lot easier, except I planned and still went over by 80 calories, plus now I want a 100 calorie cookie too. LOL. I put one in a baggy for myself and decided that if I exercise I will eat it.

I do that occasionally if I know I'm taking something to work for lunch the next day or if we have plans to eat at a specific restaurant and I know what I'm getting in advance. Usually though my pre-logging is just done the morning of- planning out my day. I've also been known to log dinner at the grocery store while buying it- the phone app bar code scanner is great for that I just scan stuff as I put it in the cart lol.

I do that at times, but its usually in conjuction with planning out my menu for the week so I know what I need to but at the store. I try not to put in what I eat prior to eating it to prevent having to adjust it when I eat more than I listed :/

During the week I do, I tend to eat the same stuff so it all goes in. Sometimes I 'over log' to include everything I think I may eat and then delete what I don't, I seem to end up about the same each day.

The weekends are a free for all though.

I plan ahead and always leave 100-200 calories free so that I can slide in a cookie or small snack that I feel like having. And if I go over, I will squeeze in exercise or push harder on my exercise to burn more.

I always plan at least the main meals for the next few days, this week I've been planning everything! I am a compulsive planner so I love it haha
  • I plan in my head but don't log it, mainly because I will have more than what I've planned, albeit only arbitrary amounts.
I like logging food I've eaten instantly, in some demented way logging it down makes me feel fuller.

I prelog in the mornings but not earlier than that. I have a general plan of what to eat over the course of the week (usually lunch/dinner to better plan groceries) but they are flexible day by day depending on my mood.

I log the night before for the next days breakfast, lunch and snacks, since I pack those to take to work with me. Dinner is the only meal I don't prelog because I don't always know I'm making.

Logging ahead of time keeps me in check. I also try and leave 100 calories open just incase I need one more snack or bite :)

I go as far in advance as I can. I usually pack my lunch, so I know what that's going to be, and if I know what dinner is, then I'll go ahead and log that in also. I feel it gives me an idea of where I'm headed for the day - and whether or not I can sneak in any extra chocolate! I don't usually go more than a day out, though. Things change too rapidly for me to go out any further than that.
