Obsessed with the scale.

I went through the gastric sleeve procedure about 8 months ago. At my highest, I weighed 424 lbs. As of today, I've lost 133 lbs, bringing me down to 291 lbs. My goal is 180 lbs, only 111 lbs away. Most people say this is a great weight loss, but to me it feel like nothing. Lately, I've been walking 3.5 miles in the morning and the same at night. I burn more calories than I eat honestly. I just feel like I've failed, and it's only been 8 months. I weigh myself everyday, and if I gain even a pound I think I've ate too much. I feel like I need SOME sort if guidance, otherwise I'm going to workout everyday and NEVER let my body rest.

I am obsessed with the scale, too. I weigh every time I go into my bathroom and its been that way for 15 years! Now that I am dieting, its worse and every time I see the number go up, I feel like I failed! I know how you feel!0

Don't be so hard on yourself. You have lost a tremendous amount of weight so far and you should be very proud of yourself! Why don't you stop weighing yourself every day and go to once a week instead. Remember, sometimes we retain water and stuff that factors into the big scheme of things. I know I have weighed myself morning, noon, and night and guess what? It's different every time. So give yourself a break and a big hug. YOU ARE DOING AWESOME! Feel free to friend me and have a great night.0

Whoa, you need to chill. You have done a PHENOMENAL job!!! That is a TON of weight to lose!!! Congratulations to you.
Now, step back from the scale, hide it from yourself if you need to. There is no reason to weigh daily and all you're going to do is beat yourself up. You started this journey to get healthy and part of that health, is mental. You're beating yourself up mentally and it's going to be damaging. Be proud of what you've accomplished and what you will continue to accomplish as you lose even more!
Keep up the good work and don't let that scale decide how you feel. You're kicking major butt!0 -
Girl you are crazy if you don't t think what you have accomplished already is nothing short of amazing!! 133 in 8 months?? That's ridic!!!
You're struggling mentally.... Be proud of yourself girl, stop beating yourself up. Celebrate what you have achieved so far. Take a deep breath. You got this!0 -
I know how you feel. At one point I was so exhausted being worried about the scale that I wasn't eating the way I should have. What did that get me? Put me on a plateau and wasn't losing anything. Recently I started eating 5 small meals a day and continued working out 6 days a week and I started losing again. I went from a size 16 to a size 8 in 8 months and I felt like it took so long to get there but I have to remind myself that it's the long term result that matters. I commend you on your progress and as a RN I know how people struggle with their weight but you are doing great! You need to continue to eat healthy and exercise regularly but don't kill yourself doing it. Enjoy the process and don't worry so much about the end goal because if you enjoy the journey you will get to your destination! Good luck, you're doing wonderful! :0)0
