Feeling so defeated

I have a history of herniated discs. L4/L5 and L5/S1 are herniated. I started to have pain at the beginning of 2010, but after losing a bunch of weight, the pain went away from early 2011 until recently. I listened to the doctor and lost the weight because he told me it would help.

Except now, the pain is back. Hurts if I exercise, hurts if I don't exercise. Hurts to lay, hurts to move.

I'm just done. I did what I was told to do, I lost the weight, close to 170 pounds. I just want to feel better and do what I want.

Why me?

Sorry for the pity party, just down and depressed.

I think your doc was right in telling you to lose weight. Taking weight off of your back and joints will do you good BUT it took time to get the weight off and your disks may have gotten worse in that time. It maybe that your disk issues will require surgery. my husband had to have disk surgery and gets around much better. He is not completely pain-free but he is better. I see that you have had a baby and that can really mess a body up. You may want to look in to chiropractic services (sometimes they can not help people with disk issues so make sure you let them know about your past problems). I hope you can find some relief.

I had a herniated disc and physiotherapy helped. Talk to your doctor about a referral.

I have a herniated disc as well. I searched for relief & found a CD on Amazon called Viniyoga for low back, sacram & hip. Was like $10. It helped so much. Took several weeks & hurt like hell while doing it the first two but then I felt improvement the rest of tje day.

In fact, I need to get back @ it as I'm noticing symptoms again.
