Leslie Sansone WATP question

Is it ok if I do Leslie Sansone's work out without shoes? (only barefoot)
I'm doing it in my own room so I dont think I'd need any shoes. and currently i only have one pair of shoes, which is my walking shoes and my daily activities shoes as well.

But my ankle felt abit hurt afterward. Is it because I've been not exercising for months or because I dont wear any shoes?
will I get used to it and the pain go away after few days?

I never wear shoes while doing it in my own house. I would say try with the shoes and see if your ankles feel better. Maybe if just your ankles are weak then when they get stronger you will be ok with out shoes.

When I started doing her dvd's. I did them barefoot. I didn't have any problem with my ankles, but I found that after a few times the bottom of my feet were starting to hurt. I find shoes help with the impact on my feet. You may have just twisted your ankle. Let it rest a couple of days and try again. If your ankle still bothers you, maybe you should try wearing shoes.

I can't say how vitally important it is that you wear a good strong set of walking shoes for every Leslie workout.
They act as protectors and shock absorbers for your feet and if you're already experiencing pain that is for sure
a wake up call. Good sweat absorbing socks will help too. You don't need extensive blisters, calluses, and foot
pain; they will only slow you down. You need to work out safely and consistently to see results. I wish you very
well on your fitness journey... Sue

You're probably experiencing the same thing I did when trying barefoot running. All the little muscles, ligaments, tendons and whatnots in our ankles are under-used, due to being in a supportive shoe most of the time. Take the shoes off, the little bits start getting used, sore, and in the end stronger.

I solved the issue by starting very slowly, to allow my ankles to gain strength, now I have no troubles.

I don't know how long these workouts are, but I'd caution not to overdo it too quickly, you could end up with very intense pain (like I did :)

I wear my running shoes. If you're on carpet it might not be as bad but if you're on hard floor at least a pair of cushioned socks will help.

I never wear shoes when I exercise at home. I do the Leslie Sansone vids too. They are low impact and very gentle. I do have an ankle problem and when it's acting up, the side steps bother me. I'll either throw on some good arch support shoes, or put on my ankle brace, or substitute a different move for the sidesteps.

Unless you need good support on your feet, you should be OK. It's not like you're going to step on something or slip on something. Also, it's natural to spend time walking on barefeet.

I tried doing them barefoot but found that I need the cushion of good shoes. (could be that when I started out I was 300 lbs and under 5 ft tall). Now I still do them with a good pair of runners on and I'm just over 1/3 of the way to my goal. LOL If you're looking at my weight loss here. I started after losing 40 lbs because I needed the added accountability, the measures, and to see what I was doing and where I was going. I also needed something in print to send to my specialist once a month. The reports give me that.
