So after joining MFP a while ago,I have decided to give it a shot. I have no idea how to diet or exercise to get results. It's hard to eat heathy when i have a big family that's not dieting.
I am 5'1" and weigh around 118-122.
My weight it going up and I don't want it to. Dont want to say a certain amount I want to lose but just want to be happy with my body. So i guess my goal weight would be 113.
Any help or suggestions?

Try to talk to your family and ask if, at least with your meals, you can eat healthier. Maybe ask if they can buy some salad mix for you, etc.
If you eat what they eat, just watch your portions.
And start in on a varied exercise routine. If you can't buy workout videos, try looking them up on youtube or hulu.0 -
You should definitely buy yourself a digital scale and weigh your food.
Track your food into your MFP diary.
Eat 5-6 meals a day. (Breakfast should be your biggest meal of the day)
Lift weights.
Cardio.
Sleep.
&
Repeat.
Add me if you'd like.
Feel free to check out my MFP diary whenever.0 -
I am going to make a wild guess, you are an older teenager female still living at home shocked at your weight gain from developing into an adutl female. Eat what you want and exercise. You might have a little excess but nothing shocking, I commend you for wanting to improve yourself. Your work now will improve your later self and you will be grateful.0

You should go over to bodybuilding.com and start lifting weights. You don't need to lose weight; if you just keep eating whatever is normal to you and lift weights you can get a firmer body.
I'm not saying you're lying about your age but plenty of teens come here and say they're 18 or 19 or whatever... if you are younger, please also keep in mind you're still growing and your weight may just increase because of that.

7.5 lbs lost since just before Thanksgiving. Even lost .5 lbs that week. This is helping me make better food choices and resist temptations. However, 1200 calories seems a little austere, so as soon as I lose 10 lbs, I'll allow myself a small treat. I'm using the companion app, Runtastic Pro to keep track of my activity. A lifelong couch potato, I am glad for these two apps and look forward to getting down to my goal!0
