Either share with one of my kids or I go by the weight of it and find a corresponding entry in the database.

Ok, whenever I eat half of something, and save the other half I sprinkle a little bit of lemon juice over it. The lemon juice prevents the fruit item to go bad before it gets way to bad.

Or wrap it well with plastic wrap or baggie, squeeze out the air!

    I share with my dogs.
I do share with my rat terrier - she loves fruit and begs for it, especially apples & bananas!

I had a client who would only want part of a banana and we would just cut it with the peel and then the next day cut it again but cut off the part that is exposed to the air. Personally if I log half of a fruit serving like half of a banana or apple.. I shared it with my son or granddaughter.

That's exactly what I do....only the exposed part gets brown. I just cut that off and then peel the next half.
  • Kid or husband has the other half.

My stinkin' scavenging kids usually snag half of whatever fruit I'm having at the moment. I'd get angry at them but it's better than them chowing on candy...

My partials are usually due to me eating my daughter's leftover's.....apple slices from McDonalds, french fries, the fruit she doesn't like in the chik-fil-a fruit cup, etc. We don't eat much fast food, but I do get it as a treat for the kids. On those days, I'll usually just grab a sandwich for myself and split a small fry with my daughter because neither of us needs a full serving (no I'm not starving her, she eats nuggets with fruit).
  • Either share it with someone or depending on it's size - (ie. if it's smaller than usual) I'll enter 0.5.

    Just to be more accurate.

Banana 1/2 goes in fridge or freezer for later. Other fruit....stored in a container for later!
  • I'm too lazy to do that, especially if I'm trying to get all my stuff done for the day. I'll just eat the whole darn thing!

I just cut my bananna in half and eat the other half the next day, us it stays fresh that way, I do the same with an apple except I wrap in in plastic wrap and stick it in the fridge. You could also freez the rest of your bananna and make a yogurt smoothy with it and some frozen pineapple yum!

Sometimes I start to eat something and realise I don't like it so don't finish it. I'll be damned if I'm wasting calories on foods I don't like!

I'll put the other half in the refrigerator.

Sometimes I'm just not that hungry for the whole thing but I want something so I'll just eat half.

One time I logged half a banana because the bottom half was bruised and I thought it was gross, so I tossed the rest of it.

I always eat a whole apple. I could see if people cut an apple up and only ate half of it though.

I also either split it with one of my kids or hubby or if it's frozen (and I freeze cut up bananas too), I will just use the amount I want and log it accordingly. If I'm at a party and there's a fruit tray with cut up apples, I might also log what I eat as a fraction of an apple. I very rarely waste food though and would never just cut off part of a fruit/veggie or whatever and chunk the rest (unless it was bad).
