Im 5'5 and 198. My gw is 145. When I joined mfp I just ate what it calculated for me which was 1480 per day. I was ok with that for a couple weeks and then found myself feeling hungry all the time, I did some research based on some of the things people on here were saying. I found my bmr to be around 1690 so I decided to up my daily calories to 1700 for a while and see what happens. Im defenitly enjoying it and have found Im still losing. This is only the 2nd week of it though and Im just wondering is there anyone else who eats in that range and DOES NOT exercise and continues to lose? I dont exercise and really dont plan to and I figured I would have to eat in the lower calorie range to make up for it. Im hoping that I can stay in this range and continue to lose. Anyone with experience in this?

There are so many important reasons to exercise besides losing weight. Why don't you plan to- just curious?

You can lose weight just by cutting calories, but you'll be cheating yourself of a firmer body, stronger heart and lungs, reduced risk for all sorts of diseases, better mental health, more energy...

I'm another who doesn't really understand why you wouldn't want to exercise? I mean, not everyone has do lift weights and do hours of classes, but a brisk walk for 20mins around the block? Not even that? Why on earth wouldn't you want to help your cardiovascular system??

Honestly, I just dont like it and wont stick to it on a regular basis. I hate the feeling of being hot from the inside out and no matter how i try to change it up is soooo boring. However Im not sitting on the couch all day either. Im always up doing something either housework or at work. So other than things I enjoy like bike riding or swimming, that I unfortunetly dont get to do very often, I dont want to base my weight loss on it. I do take the occasional walk and things like that but I dont get up and do it on a daily basis. I would just want to consider those bonuses and not rely on them. I know alot of people might not understand that but thats ok, I just want to know if anyone else lost in the 1700-1800 cal range, maybe they were unable to exercise or something and still lost.
