Hi everyone! I'm Amy, 31 here in CA. I've always been over weight, but this is the highest I've been. In the past I've been fine with my body, but now I just feel icky and tired all the time. Its time to do something about it! I hope to make some friends on here who I can chat with about weight loss, fitness and just life in general. So far I have found this page so helpful!! It also helps doing this with a friend! Out lunch time walks have really been helping and they keep me motivated!

Hi Amy and welcome to MFP. This is the first and most important step to weight loss. I joined up in Jan and its the best thing I could of done. Just by logging my foods daily and exercising a few times a week I've managed to lose 10lb. I'm aiming for a 1 lb a week as I know this achievable for me and I won't go hungry. I to am at my heaviest ever. Starting at a whopping 271lb. I have mini goals I have set myself but my first major goal will be getting to 200lb. I know this is going to take a while but I'm motivated to do this. Those quick fix diets just don't work!! However with the help of MFP and some friends I have made from this site I'm finding it really easy to stick to and not at all like a diet.

I'm all the way across the ocean in the UK but if you want a little help and encouragement then feel free to add me as a friend.

Hi Amy - welcome!! I too have never been so heavy as I was when I joined and has been helping me hold myself accountable. I've been LOVING just logging food, water and exercise - even when I mess up! I'm hoping you have lots and lots of success in this journey! I've just recently lost 10% of my body weight and it feels GREAT. I'm already in smaller clothing and noticing my energy is outstanding-even though I'm still above 200. Incredible. Anyway, best of luck to you - all things are possible....
