Try to implement yoga into your schedule? Seems like it should help you in learning to calm your mind and relax you when you're stressed.

bump for suggestions, but all i end up doing is exercising
  • It really depends on what is truly stressing you out. If its work, figure out what or who is causing it and try to make little changes at a time. Also it does take a bit of doing, but do your best to not let it affect you and just try not to concern yourself with what ever issue there is.

Life is too short to be stressed. Take what makes you the happiest and focus on that.

Run. It's impossible to run away from a bad day, but, it feels awesome trying.

Maybe you are struggling with anxiety issues...prozac or some kind of other meds?

Take some time out for yourself and do something that you like such as reading, exercising, or getting a pedicure. Just relax my friend and don't sweat the small stuff!

From the counselor's chair (my job), the first areas I would discuss with you are:
    1. What are you stressing about?
    2. Is there a person or situation(s) that brings you stress?

A lot more to follow, but I would rather see you find the cause and address it, than just put a "bandaid" over stress. This is an area of expertise I deal with daily and there are some great breathing exercises and meditation I would direct you to as well as working out...but what lies beneath the surface...that's the key.

I wish you well, and PM me if you want to discuss...no, not a troll...very happily married, just here to help.

I tend to be an emotional eater, so I have to be conscious of stress at all times. Some things that have worked for me are meditation/prayer, relaxation tapes (you can rent them free at most libraries), and...massage, or as I call it, mass-ahhhhhhhhge. Also, taking a long walk or even a long drive soothes me.
