Facts about the McRib. Excerpt:

According to an article from Chicago magazine, which cites a 1995 article by Mandigo, "restructured meat product" contains a mixture of tripe, heart, and scalded stomach, which is then mixed with salt and water to extract proteins from the muscle. The proteins bind all the pork trimmings together so that it can be re-molded into any specific shape — in this case, a fake slab of ribs."

OK... I'm done throwing up now. Now you can start. ;)

All the meat at McDonald's is no good for you.

The McRib alone is made up of about 70 different ingredients. And most of that food has chemicals in it to help preserve the meat.

And that article is definitely a good wake up call to make you think about what else their other meat products are made up of.

What I mean by is, that food has more chemicals that probably shouldn't even be put in food. Even in the article it says, 'ingredients in it, one include flour-bleaching agents used on yoga mats'.

I'm sure real meat doesn't have over 70 different ingredients in them some of which could be used as an agent for yoga mats. That's why I tend to buy my meat at the local stores. And I'm lucky to live in a town where we have local farmers. Sure there may be chemicals in it, but it can't be as much as what fast food places put in theirs.

All I'm saying is, if people want to eat it that's their choice.

Enjoy McDonald's if you like , but being deliberately obtuse in the interests of sarcasm just destroys ones' credibility.....Or maybe you've truly never heard of the stuff the "Meat Processing Industry" dumps in the vats.

Barf. I haven't eaten McDonalds since January 2012...before that it was February 2011. We were in Vegas and at 2am in a hungover state we decided to get some McDonalds. The smell coming from the fryers was enough to provoke gagging, I had to go sit out in the casino while my hubby waited for the food. We took it up to our room and I ate one french fry and gagged, as the smell I had been smelling was exactly what the fry tasted like. Never again, it is garbage.

I got a card for McDonalds that offers 1 big mac a week for a year! I'm going to get one every day and donate to the first homeless person I see at the light! I don't want to waste it, but also doing a good deed. Even though its unhealthy =/

I'm not surprised, but it is all edible. Offal isn't bad for you, I love it. I've never had a McRib (I live in a country with a large muslim community so I guess it's no surprise) so I can't comment on the taste. I'd be interested to see a more up to date report. The once referenced in the article is from 1995, that is a long time ago and it's only recently (I think I read 2010 somewhere) that McNuggets have been made with 100% chicken breast.
