I have heard mixed answer about this issues, some says it help because it is duretic some say it is not due to caffeine. So does it help the body when we had too much sodium or not?

What is too much sodium and any fluid will help flush is out. Green tea has no magical properties and caffeine is only a diuretic if you consume a lot of it. Unless you have an issue with sodium I wouldn't worry about it and the best answer is to avoid eating too much to start with. I've never really understood the whole hang up with "water weight" gain from indulging in too much salt. It's water, not fat, and it will go away just the same as it came without any special effort on your part.

Like water, green tea is only diuretic if you drink a lot of it. In which case it will help if you eat too much sodium. But it's no better than water or other no sodium drinks.

Eat more potassium and water rich foods (fruits and non starchy vegetables) to balance out excess sodium.
