"right here waiting" Richard Marx- My best friend "played piano" but all she could play is the first little bit of this song. That's it.

"ordainary world" Duran Duran- First song on radio after I heard my grandma passed. Always thought it was so appropriate. Still get chills

"Sloop John B" Beach Boys- This awful camping trip we got rained out of. Though of this song. STILL think of that trip each time.

"lady in red" Artist too lazy to google- This song reminds me of a story written into the Kasey Kasem countdown. She was a tomboy, but looked great in red for a dance. Still makes me misty.

"Can't let go" Mariah Carey - First real slow dance in 8th grade. He rejected me so often. But we danced. He was wearing his Bulls starter Jacket, I was wearing a blue bodysuit.

I love music for this reason!

Too many to think of. I get overly emotional when it comes to music. Could be the stupidist (is that a word?) song and it will trigger a memory that makes me tear up. Be it happy or sad.

I have so, so many songs that bring up memories, here's a couple:

Who Knew by Pink - My son's15 year old friend (at that time, she would have been 21 now) OD"d after her mother, a nurse, gave her access to some morphine. The song had just come out that year I believe. Every time I hear it though I think of her.

The Night Chicago Died by Paper Lace - My parent's had horrible taste in music. I will always remember listening to this with my sisters as we sat around the kitchen table. My parents used to have friends come over and play cards on Saturday nights. Sunday mornings the ashtrays on the table would be overflowing. My sisters and I would pretend to smoke the butts (gross!) and be adults.

A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton - My son Zach loved this song when it first came out, he was 2 years old, I remember playing it over and over and over for him.

Hanging by a Moment - Lifehouse - My husband waking out of a dead sleep singing this song

500 Miles - The Proclaimers - Doing "sidelines" at High school basketball games as a cheerleader

And of course all the love songs that remind me of my husband (Angels by Robbie Williams, I Love You by Climax Blues Band)

The entire Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi album reminds me of the summer between elementary and middle school.
My Hero by the Foo Fighters always makes me think of my grandpa.
Gravity by John Mayer was on the radio when we brought my daughter home from the hospital.
I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz was first played on the radio the day after I discovered my wife's affair.

"I'll be missing you" by P. Diddy reminds me of when my husband and I were first dating. He'd play it in his car all the time.
"Let the drummer Kick" by Citizen's Cope reminds me of a particularly tumultuous time period in my life. I can't even listen to that song without getting a knot in my stomach. Same with 'Fall for You' by Secondhand Serenade.
"Yeah" by Usher reminds me of going to the beach with friends just this past July. It was really popular at that time and every bar we went into was playing it.
Anything by R.E.O. Speedwagon reminds me of my dad. Especially 'Can't Fight This Feeling" He used to play it in the car all the time.

I have way too many songs that link with memories, but a few I can think of straight away are:

Truly, Madly, Deeply - Savage Garden: My cousin passed away at 10 years old and this was the song played at his funeral.
Brick - Ben Folds Five: First contemporary song I learnt to play on the piano, also think of my first crush.
Any song by Fergie's solo album: When I was working with a disability organisation, used to hear it on the radio while writing reports.
Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi: I had an awesome time singing karaoke to this song on a cruise ship through the Greek Islands.
El Beso de Final - Christina Aguilera: I had the most amazing lambada dance with a guy from the studio I used to do latin dancing...it also helped he was buff, a great dancer and just an overall awesome guy.
Dancing Queen - Abba: My aunts on my mum's side of the family always get up and dance to this song at family weddings. Always awesome and funny to watch.
Any song by Simply Red: I saw Simply Red in Lucca, Italy and it was the first and only concert I saw overseas. I loved it and think of it often.

Just to add: Lady in Red is by Chris de Burgh.

"Sundown" Gordon Lightfoot. Reminds of summer when i was 10 or 11. Riding in the back seat, standing on the transmission hump. Sun was setting in the distance. It was warm, but not hot. No specific memory other than i remember that moment like it was yesterday as soon as the song starts playing.

"Desperado"/The Eagles- A female friend (had a huge crush on her) would always come from behind the bar to dance with me whenever this song (on a jukebox) played. Didn't matter how busy she was, we always danced to it. I never got the guts to do anything about it.

I have MANY, but one song that brings me to tears is Cinderella's Don't Know What Ya Got Til It's Gone. My best friend LOVED this song and for some reason, she wrote down the lyrics when we were about 15 and that paper somehow ended up in my Bible. I haven't spoke to her in 3 years because she chooses to avoid me, which is something she does when she's using drugs. I miss her. :'(

"Hey Michel" by Anouk reminds me of someone I used to go out with. He broke up with me and just a little bit later when I was there alone that song was playing on the radio, it reminds me of how lonely I felt then.

"Coming Back to Life" by Pink Floyd, definitely not one of their masterpieces, reminds me of going over a tough time in my life.

"It Don't Mean a Thing", the Ella & Duke version, reminds me of a really fun time I had as a senior in high school with my best friend at the time.

"Ne Me Quitte Pas" reminds me of my highschool ex-boyfriend. He really loved this song and sang it all the time... I did, though.

Too many to think of right now.................

What a Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong - Danced with grandfather at my wedding to it. I was his only granddaughter and thought it would be a nice surprise thing to do. I still remember the tears in his eyes when the DJ announced it, and my uncle helping him to the dance floor.
