Songs and the memories you associate with them
"right here waiting" Richard Marx- My best friend "played piano" but all she could play is the first little bit of this song. That's it.
"ordainary world" Duran Duran- First song on radio after I heard my grandma passed. Always thought it was so appropriate. Still get chills
"Sloop John B" Beach Boys- This awful camping trip we got rained out of. Though of this song. STILL think of that trip each time.
"lady in red" Artist too lazy to google- This song reminds me of a story written into the Kasey Kasem countdown. She was a tomboy, but looked great in red for a dance. Still makes me misty.
"Can't let go" Mariah Carey - First real slow dance in 8th grade. He rejected me so often. But we danced. He was wearing his Bulls starter Jacket, I was wearing a blue bodysuit.
I love music for this reason!

Too many to think of. I get overly emotional when it comes to music. Could be the stupidist (is that a word?) song and it will trigger a memory that makes me tear up. Be it happy or sad.0

Who Knew by Pink - My son's15 year old friend (at that time, she would have been 21 now) OD"d after her mother, a nurse, gave her access to some morphine. The song had just come out that year I believe. Every time I hear it though I think of her.
The Night Chicago Died by Paper Lace - My parent's had horrible taste in music. I will always remember listening to this with my sisters as we sat around the kitchen table. My parents used to have friends come over and play cards on Saturday nights. Sunday mornings the ashtrays on the table would be overflowing. My sisters and I would pretend to smoke the butts (gross!) and be adults.
A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton - My son Zach loved this song when it first came out, he was 2 years old, I remember playing it over and over and over for him.0 -

I have MANY, but one song that brings me to tears is Cinderella's Don't Know What Ya Got Til It's Gone. My best friend LOVED this song and for some reason, she wrote down the lyrics when we were about 15 and that paper somehow ended up in my Bible. I haven't spoke to her in 3 years because she chooses to avoid me, which is something she does when she's using drugs. I miss her.0

"Coming Back to Life" by Pink Floyd, definitely not one of their masterpieces, reminds me of going over a tough time in my life.
"It Don't Mean a Thing", the Ella & Duke version, reminds me of a really fun time I had as a senior in high school with my best friend at the time.
"Ne Me Quitte Pas" reminds me of my highschool ex-boyfriend. He really loved this song and sang it all the time... I did, though.0 -
Too many to think of right now.................
What a Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong - Danced with grandfather at my wedding to it. I was his only granddaughter and thought it would be a nice surprise thing to do. I still remember the tears in his eyes when the DJ announced it, and my uncle helping him to the dance floor.0
