New mind new attitude

Hi I'm Lindy

I've been on the weight loss roller-coaster for so long now it has become a way of life.
Yesterday was my birthday and to my horror I am heavier than this time last year. this has to STOP!
I listened to a few podcasts last night and one speaker in particular's message resonated with me.

I'm no longer a should doer.

I looked at what I am currently doing and how it isn't working for me.
I have written down how to make things happen in my life.
I am going to get up earlier each morning. 5.45am and go for a 30 minute walk.
Mondays I can do more as I don't work but Tues. - Fri. just 30 mins Weekends I can choose to rest or ride my bike.
I walked for 37 minutes this AM and am feeling soooooo energised and positive.
I have logged my food and made sure my iphone has the app on it so as I am out and about today I can follow my food plan.

So begins day 1

Good job. All it takes is a little change to change a lot.

Just stick with it!! It has to be a lifestyle change. I woke up on New Year's Day almost two years ago (1/1/11) and thought "i think i'm gonna try to lose some weight"..... I changed my eating, joined a gym, and the rest is history.

    I've walked 1 5k (2011), ran one 5k (2012)
    ran two 10k's this year
ran two half marathon's this year (both in the past month)...

I take Pitaiyo.... I lift weights..... My favorite place to be is at the gym.

I'm a completely different person than I was two years ago.

    116.4lbs down.

  • Wow thanks everyone.

I hadn't looked at this since Monday.
Your messages of support are really positive and encouraging.
I really appreciate the time you all took to post.

    thank you.

An old injury has raised it's head (My ankle tends to weaken at times) but instead of staying in bed feeling sorry for myself I got my bike out and did 6.5 kms
  • 6 days later and I'm kicking some exercise butt.
Rode 6.33 kms today in under 30 minutes.

Something I'd have never done 2 weeks ago!

    So proud of me!

It can be really hard getting back into the swing of things, and even harder keeping up on it, but it really does make all the difference to change the way you think too. I certainly have the best results when I do diet+exercise+meditation to keep the whole thing from crashing around my head. Just remember that you can do this and that you have people who are more thanwillingto support you and go on this journey with you :D
