You've never totally blown it unless you decide to give up entirely. The day you walk away from your health/weight issues is the ONLY day you've totally blown it. So chin up and carry on.

Stop beating yourself up! One day at a time! :) Like people already said, we all have days where we slip up or arent too excited about our choices, but getting down on yourself isnt going to help. I pigged out on nachos and a margarita last friday and went over my calories but i did okay the next few days and it didnt effect my results or my happiness with how far ive come, just by eating healthier! you got this! :)

Sorry. It only counts as "blowing it" if you lie to your diary. Since you own it, you're fine. Just get back up and keep on goin'.

    One slip ruins nothing.

Well, if you drink enough you won't care for a little while. Besides tomorrow is another day

These were just vodka shots? I'm confused. A shot of vodka shouldn't be that much. Even flavoured vodkas.
  • I'm doing 4 ounces at a time... Oh boy... I hope my math isn't wrong. /

You did THREE 4 ounce shots on 1200 calories??? And you're still typing?

I was being so good and it only took one little sip of Pinnacle Key Lime Vodka to totally blow it today. I'm extremely ashamed. :( My food diary says it all. Yes, I'm logging every shameful glass. :( Somebody help!

You haven't blown it until you say you're a lost cause and just stop trying....
We can't help you. Unfortunately, you need to seriously help yourself (and NOT like that)...
Gawd, hate these kinds of posts.
People that think we have magic words that will make everything easier...
It's not ever going to be like that.
  • Yes, I'm still typing lol

Check out my diary from yesterday....then go ahead and laugh. :D And then just put today behind you and move on. Its ok...really. :)

Seriously? You're sure you're not doing math wrong?
I would not be upright if I had 12 ounces of vodka, straight, on 1200 (or 3000) calories.

Moderation and the occasional treat are okay - deprivation is unsustainable. Just avoid turning it into a pattern

It makes me sad to see someone beat themselves up for a slip. We are all human and we will all slip up once in awhile. Just put it behind you and start anew! I am very proud that you are logging it truthfully. Being honest in your efforts will ensure your success! Tomorrow is a new day my dear!

Haha. She had more then a sip. It happens. Move on. :)
  • I'm sure... I have in the past drank heavily... I have really curbed my drinking in the past several months... actually, I stopped drinking all together. I suppose I have a high tolerance... thanks again for all the support. I feel all cared about... and stuff. You guys have completely made me feel better about this slip. Thanks so much!

    1) You're likely eating too little anyway, 2100 is likely what you should be eating anyway.

    2) It sounds as if your math is off and you're not that much over anyway.

    3) 1 day will not make a bit of difference.

I blew it yesterday. I went to lunch with friends, and ordered a plate of Chicken Nachos. 1490 calories. One mean was more than my entire amount of calories for my whole day. I won't be ordering those again!

But at least they were yummy and you totally enjoyed, right?

It's a marathon, my friends, not a sprint. Tomorrow is another day indeed.
  • I am currently making coffee soooo.... my drinking is over. I feel really good about it, too! :D

okay! Well, stay home, and drink a few glasses of water before you go to bed. That's a lot to have on so few calories. Don't sweat the overage. It won't have a long term impact.

fwiw: maybe add shots to a big glass of club soda next time? (and drink about a quarter the number of shots)

Continue as normal, then at the end of the week, look at your weekly calorific goals to give you a more objective view of how you did for that week.
This, I always go by weekly calories. That being said even if you have gone over your weekly goal, you will probably still be in a deficit, your goal is really well. Don't do it every day, but you are ok :)

I have to say, I'm glad to hear this. I lost an uncle last year because of his hard drinking. Esophageal cancer. He was 59. Please know that you are to precious to go down like that. If you can't do moderation, you might have to avoid it altogether.
