Amish Friendship Bread Starter
I have an Amish Friendship Bread starter that will be ready to cook tomorrow night. I am already planning on substituting the oil with applesauce. Do you have any other hints/tips to make this a little healthier/less fattening? Thanks! I would like to use the starter to make several types of bread and other desserts, but not if it has way too many calories.

Where are you located? I REALLY want a starter... YUM!
Other than applesauce, you can probably just cut back on the sugar a little... There's SO MUCH in it. I'd also try a different flour - whole wheat white is what my mom likes to use with her baking because it's a little healthier but keeps bread moist.0 -
The last time I made this I used 1/2 the sugar and I couldn't tell any difference0
