How will I get through tomorrow!?!?

What is everyone doing to get them through tomorrow?
I have been on MFP since Dec. So far I have lost 13 pounds. Eating at my parent’s house would be just fine, since I'll be equipped with measuring cups and scales. lol. I'm determined not to gain this holiday since I did on Christmas and New Years and it took forever to come off.
The big problem comes at breakfast. My boyfriend’s family wants to go out to eat. If we were going to Friendly's this would be ok I'd go on their website and calculate what I could eat.
But, no!
We are going to Fire & Ice. It’s a huge buffet where they cook the food in front of you. It is stocked with everything yummy in the entire world all without nutritional information. My boyfriend and I have not eaten anywhere that does not show nutritional info since we started so I won’t cheat something horrible.
What will you do?

I would just relax and enjoy a meal out on easter morning. Get in a good workout today, maybe push yourself a little harder than you would normally. I honestly wouldn't freak out about a a few high calorie meals in a single day. Big meals speed up your metabolism which helps with weight loss in the long run as long as you don't do it every other day.

i am going to a buffet for lunch, so i'm already mentally planning what i can have, too.
breakfast can be harder since there are generally fewer vegies to fill the corners, but lots of fatty meats & breads.
spend a little time today looking up numbers so you are mentally prepared. how many calories in bacon, sausage, ham, biscuits, pancakes.
then- i would avoid meats & breads. if they have a green salad have 2 cups & water to start your meal, & begin to fill your stomach.
then go for egg- will they cook an egg substitute? inquire, they are less than 1/2 the calories. you could have a 2 egg omelet with substitute for 60 calories (have to add a bit for the butter they'll cook in) be sure to add things like mushrooms, spinach, onions, salsa, fresh basil and avoid cheese.
add some fresh fruit (bananas can be expensive, in calories) maybe one piece of toast.
that's where i would stop, but it depends on how many calories you are allowed. looking up some of the "treats" ahead of time will give you an idea just how much you are spending in calories if you opt to pick up one of those special items.
but whatever you do, relax and enjoy the time with others. nothing more miserable than sitting with someone who whines & pouts that the meal you've taken them out to enjoy is inadequate. plan an afternoon walk or something to work off the extra calories in the morning. happy easter- katie0 -
Enjoy it...it's a day of rest meant to enjoy the risen Lord!0

Amen! Enjoy within reason! Hop on that treadmill for a bit and drink lots of water. We can enjoy this day and get after it again on Monday.0 -
I would look to eggs (egg whites if you can) for your protein and not the fatty breafast meats. If there's oatmeal or other whole-grain cereal, you could use that for your carbs. If not, I would go for potatoes (even if they're fried) for my carbs over sugary pastries or muffins. Good luck, and enjoy your breakfast out!0

I missed an obvious choice for carbs: whole-wheat toast if they have it would be great!0

I try and remember that skinny people take a day off once in awhile and then work extra hard to make up for it after.
That's why they are skinny.
So I am going to look at this as a test to see if I can enjoy life for a day while making reasonably good choices without binging.0 -
This looks like something we have in Colorado called a Mongolian Grill. If it is similar to that (there is a long buffet style bar where you fill your bowl with whatever veggies/meats/noodles/rice/etc that you want, add the sauce that you want, and take it to the large circle grill where they cook it up while you watch, put it into a clean bowl, and give it back to you) then you have complete control over what goes into your bowl. You would just need to make good choices. I would add more veggies than anything else, a little meat for protein and forgo the sauce (maybe ask for a bit of soy if you want some added flavor). I would also avoid the rice and tortillas as they tend to be very high in calories. However, if you have lots of veggies then you shouldn't be too high in calories and could have a tortilla if you wanted.
Also, today you could get a serving spoon and measure out how much it holds to give yourself a better idea of how much you are putting into your bowl tomorrow. ) You can do it!!! Just relax and have fun!!!0 -
I travel for work and have to eat out constantly. I've eaten at a buffet 4 times in the last two weeks! Every meal was under 500 calories. Stay away from anything fried, load up on fruit/veggies, and pay attention to portion sizes.
Or ignore everything I just said and pig out! It's ok to be human, and it's ok to not be perfect 100% of the time. Don't let getting off track for one meal (day/week/whatever) make you think you can't get right back on track making good choices going forward.0 -
If it's a mongolian BBQ, you have it made!0

I never complain, whine or pout when people take me out. I love to go out and eat and spend time with family. Its just a mental thing that I think in my head. Oh crap I dont have all of the nutritional information for me to log in with a fine toothed comb.
I was just wondering what others were planning on doing tomorrow to get them through their day.
Thank you all for your suggestions. Lets hope my will power is greater than my appetite when all this good stuff is around me.0 -

It is something to that effect. I love this place. It's a close 2nd to Mexican food for me. It's easier for me to go there at lunch and dinner. I'm not one to eat a ton of meats. I always load up on veggies and a little bit of noodles. I'll have about 2oz of chicken or turkey when I go and get lots of beans.
My fear is I have never gone for there breakfast. I've only seen it at the end with lots of scrambled eggs, french toast, waffles and pancakes etc. French toast is one of my weaknesses.
Then on top of it go to lunch and dinner at my Moms house (Portugese/Italian) tons of yummy food. The reason for my scale and cups haha.0
