Let's just review yesterday's office temptations, all found in the kitchen by our water cooler.
1. walnut brownies
2. french macaroons
3. red velvet cake
4. sugar cookies
5. assorted chocolates
Does anyone else feel like you struggle the most at work??

Are you hungry? If yes, eat something that will NOT make you crave more and ignore the cookies.
Did you plan on having that in your calorie allotment for the day? If so, have one...
Does your body need that? If it does (because you ran 5 miles during your lunch hour and need the carbs) have one and enjoy.
Do you feel like you HAVE to eat it just because it is there? Don't....you don't feel the need to jump off a bridge just because it's there do you?
And yes, I work in a place where I am surrounded by food, chocolates, cookies etc...And a cookie-pusher from hell who comes very short of shoving a cupcake into peoples mouths....But it's the same person who thinks I'm "weird" if I go running during my lunch hour, so not worth any attention...0 -
I'm jealous. We don't have any holiday goodies in our office. :grumble:0

we just had our office Christmas party (pot luck). I don't even know how to calculate all the crap i ate. guess there is going to be a round 2 at the gym tonight after work to try and reduce some of the damage. /sigh

He used to hang out in the kitchen, too.
Then he knocked me up....now he actually has to work.0 -
We have tons of goodies at the office ALL the time. I usually stay away except days like today when we had our holiday pot luck. It's all fair game. I still exercise so a day or two will not hurt me.0

I failed miserably 2 days in a row...so I walked for 73 minutes last night, and tonight i'm going to hit the gym0

Here's a way to not be tempted:
Think of all the hands, fingers, noses, sneezes, coughing . . . . you get the picture .. . . that has been going on around these treats. Think of all the germs that are probably on the treats right now and then pat yourself on the back for resisting and not getting the latest sickness going around.
Seriously. When I worked in an office I never ate any of the goodies around or if we had an office pot-luck the only thing I'd eat are the chips and salsa if there was a spoon in it and people were using it. I don't know how someone prepares their food, how clean their houses are and whether or not they were sick when they prepared the stuff (and believe me, some of the people that I worked with were VERY sketchy and just looking at their cubicles you can imagine what kind of house they had). My sister had a cookie swap last weekend and ended up dumping all her cookies in the garbage because everyone who made something (except her) was sick. So were their kids!
Seriously, just think of that and it'll help you to say NO to the treats.0 -
a LARGE box of Godiva chocolates right by the printer (that I walk by OFTEN) and several other boxes of chocolates and doughnuts - Ive had many pieces of Godiva and its delicious0
