gains and losses

In over 2 months my weight has only gone down by 2 pounds. But I'm trying to see the bright side.

In that same amount of time:
I gained 2 pounds while on vacation - and then lost it.
Then I gained 2 pounds over a 2-week vacation that included Thanksgiving - and then lost it.
So I'm only 2 pounds down from where I was in mid-October.

BUT - in that same time frame I lost 2" off my waist, 2" off my hips and 3.5" off my thighs.
My clothes are continuing to feel looser, and I'm feeling much more fit.

Cool. Something really good is happening if the measurements are going down that much.

This is why you should just throw away the scale.

most of this is psychological. You have the right idea. Making this thing work for you and making a lot of lovely friends are 2 of the most important things in this journey. Keep on keeping on :)

Disagree. Its a tool to measure your weight, nothing more or less. The key is to not get discouraged about fluctuations.

I agree. I'm not obsessed with the scale but it is a tool and it does help to keep me mindful. It also reminds me that there will be fluctuations. But it did help me to start keeping monthly records of measurements - that way I'm not tied to only the scale as a record of improvement.
