Weak Moments

So ... I kinda fell off the horse this weekend. It was my birthday as well as Easter and I thought It wouldn't hurt to take a lil break and enjoy myself. Boy was I wrong... the weight definitely goes back on WAY quicker than it comes off and I actually felt pretty miserable when I stepped on the scales this morning but I started off the day with going to the gym so I'm getting back on track and I already feel better about it :) Even though we have weak moments that doesn't mean we should give up, just have to dust ourselved off and get up and start again. If anyone else has any stories about their weak moments feel free to share. It's nice to know we're not alone and that we can find support and motivation to keep going!

I fell off the horse this weekend too! It seemed after the first cookie, I talked myself into 3 more, and a piece of jello cake and a peanut butter egg. The 2 pounds i took off this week are right back on. I am so mad at myself. I even talked myself out of exercising for two days in a row....very unlike me. I have 5 pounds to lose...thats it and it is tough! Getting up right now to go for an hour walk outside and get this day started right. Good luck on your journey this week!
  • I had the same experience. One cookie turned into 3, plus peanut butter chocolate cheesecake that my mother-in-law made especially for me! I just chalk it up to 1 bad day. It's a new week, and I'm hoping to stay on track! Good luck to you!

Birthday parties are tough! For my daughter's 27th birthday, she and her father (both cooks) made the chocolate torte with the liquid chocolate inside (like they made on America's worst cooks--the winning dessert, by the way). 530 calories worth of richness! I ate fat-free veggie soups leading up to the party, made my own veggie salsa with asparagas, black olives, and a tiny bit of bottled salsa, limited myself to one ounze of chips (10 chips). It was deliscious, I got to exercise my math skills figuring out how many calories that dessert was, and I got to dance the night away with my 5yo grandson! Accentuate the positive! ;)

I had a rough weekend too! But like you said it is a new week and I am going to push forward. To keep myself on track I am going to purchase a food scale to keep me in line  To a healthy week!

I was trying to show how you can 'have your cake' and diet, too. I hope that is what you got from my answer.
I am very devious when I want something: The other day a cheesecake sat in the refrigerator... waiting. I got the box and figured out I could have one teaspoon of it if I wanted to stay in my caloric/fat goal for the day. Luckily, my daughter did not mind a small divot in her dessert.

I had a small weak moment yesterday. I'm a vegetarian so staying away from the meat was simple. When the desserts came out I went played with my younger cousins to burn some calories. The good part was half the desserts I was allergic too! Odd thing to be happy about but we all get it. However there was an apple pie. I started with a sliver. Went back for another. Then washed it down with two cookies. I felt the guilt soon after. Luckily I had the energy to keep playing soccer. But that apple pie was too good to pass up. We all have the week moments, but at least we keep going with counting the calories the next day!

Yes it does. I just logged on after being off for over 2 months. The weigh came back on just as fast as well. As long as you can get back into it you will be fine. That is the key.

Thanks guys! I know we all have our ups and downs but it's good to keep ourselves in check and just remember that tomorrow is another day. Glad everyone is getting back on track :)
