STOLEN GYM BAG

I usually go to the gym during my lunch break & throw my bag on the floor below the hooks/coats, where everyone leaves their bags. Everyone knows I have been working out lately, during lunch and in the evenings. I was being complimented all week. Yesterday when I was done I did the same thing, the girls/friends saw me done with supportive words, and went to my office. It was gone when I was about to head home. Thought someone took it by mistake. I asked around thinking it would be turned it the next day. NOTHING went to Security, my boss, all departments.....it was gone! I thought maybe I threw it my Jeep or left it at home, so I called home, NOTHING. My shoes and sweaty clothes were in there LOL I posted to FB---- like who would do such a thing? It is a small environment and my boss said it was probably someone I knew. Everyone is on Holidays tomorrow so I highly doubt Ill see it again

Sorry to hear about your bag! Some people will steal anything that's not bolted down! Don't worry karma will get them,0
-
someone stole your gym bag at work??
i'd talk to HR about it and alert them that there is a work thief around0 -
I'll keep my eyes out for it.0

I bet it will mysteriously show back up after the holiday when nobody's been in the office to see who returned it.....after the person went through it looking for an ipod or wallet and found sweaty clothes instead.0
-
Probably a sniffer. Probably stole it to sniff your clothing. They're probably sniffing your essence now.0

A few weeks ago my car window was shattered and my gym bag stolen out of my back seat - man I was angry.
Don't do what I did! It totally discouraged me from working out and i fell off my band wagon. Keep going - don't let the jerk screw up your progress0 -

Could be someone who is hard up for money and needs the shoes for their kid or whomever. I won't even leave my coat in communal coat closets. There is usually one person who is willing to steal under the right circumstances.0

thats why they recommend a LOCK and a locker.0

we dont have lockers at our work place- only left it there cuz its so cluttered in our cubicle's LOL its such a small setting too I suspect everyone LOL but oh well got brand new spanking gear thanks to my family LMAO0

Devil's advocate (so much fun) Maybe they mistook your gym bag for their own. Never mistake stupidity for malice.
"woah, here's my gym bag, how dumb of me to leave it here, I'll just take it, without looking inside..."0 -
You don't fall off band wagons. You are mixing metaphors.
I've had lots of stuff stolen. . . maybe they were looking for valuables.
Sorry about your stuff..

I'm sorry that happened to you. You can't really trust anyone with your stuff out in the open unfortunately. Sometimes I would go to my gym, open a locker, and find someone's things... no lock. Wished them the best with that, found another locker, and secured my stuff. I take my purse and all with me, nothing left in the car (also locked).
Keep personal things safe and out of sight. The same people complimenting you may have been the same people giggling and walking out with your things. Protect yourself.0 -
Eh... this is bizarre. I'd like to agree with lobster that maybe they just mistook it for their own bag. Let's hope!0

More like the 4th Amendment...

This is absolutley terrible. Perhaps someone thought you had something of cash value. Sad to think one of your co-workers may have done this. Keep talking about it..let the guilt ruin them...:) Sorry again!0

The last place i worked people even stole the plungers out of the bathrooms. People are low. And gross.0 -

Well THANK GAWD I took my purse with me-- again all I had in my 5 yr old bag (which was covered in mud) was my dirty clothes, broken ear phones, empty body spray, hair brush and a tea bag....but I loved my shoes & after New Years I will make a big issue out of this at work0 -
I don't get what they would want with your gym bag if there was nothing valuable in it - but they might not have known that. Maybe they thought you'd keep your phone, or an ipod in there? Or was the bag designer? Well, now they have some sweaty clothes...that sucks for you, though and I am sure you won't be making the same mistake again.
Edit: And yes, definitely report this to HR at work after the break.0
