Does anyone know of breastfeeding friendly detox's? I need to detox and quit caffeine, but withdraws are killing me!

Your body "detoxes" naturally. No need to do anything special and I definitely wouldn't do anything while nursing a child. Ease off caffeine to help with withdrawals. If you normally drink 2 cups, drink 1 for a week, then 1/2, etc.0

Detoxing isn't going to get rid of caffeine withdrawls.
Detoxes can actually be harmful for your body. Your body is designed to detox and clean itself... nothing else needed.
If you are trying to rid caffeine from your diet slowly cut down or suffer a few days of headaches.0 -
A detox will not help with that (in fact, they do not really help with anything).0

Take a poop.0

Sorry, I was having mommy brain. Detox was what we called it back home. Just those Green Smoothies I think? Is it ok for breastfeeding? My son is SO active that I will forget or not get the chance to eat until 3 or 4 sometimes. I heard the smoothies help with energy, and I was looking to switch it out for caffeine. Any good recipes that I might be able to prepare the night before?0

Green smoothies are good for you. So is eating enough food with the proper nutrition and lots of protein.
Your baby needs proper nutrition. Make time for eating. No one is that busy. It takes ten minutes to eat.0 -
It may take 10 minutes to eat, but it takes a lot longer to prepare stuff. I am a sucky cook. So it takes me forever to prepare things. I figure green smoothies are a good way for me to get nutrition in the mornings. I haven't eaten breakfast consistently in 10 years, so quick is not something I'm good at.0

My favorite go to smoothie recipe is really very simple and can be adapted to what you like very easily. I usually do 1cup vanilla almond milk and 1cup frozen mixed berries with 2T of peanut butter. Very tastey with calcium, protien, and fiber. If you want it green add some spirulina powder from the health food store or I have added a handful of baby spinach before too and its really good. Mix it up, try the dark chocolate almond milk and a frozen banana...get creative! Good luck!0

Maybe you should ask your Doctor0

Just ween yourself you're good afer a couple weeks!0

Getting off caffeine effectively goes like this: start drinking black tea instead of coffee, then green tea instead of black. Takes a couple of weeks, but you will avoid the terrible headaches this way.0

Don't have time to cook? Microwave some oatmeal, make a PB&J (for lower calories, use PB2 and sugar free strawberry preserves), grab a protein bar and a piece of fruit, you have many possibilities that include microwaving or less.0

There are tons of fast and easy breakfast options out there! I have a 7 month old I'm still exclusively nursing and also a 2 and 3 1/2 year old as well. Yogurt & granola, Cereal with milk, a protein bar and some fruit, instant oatmeal, and whole grain toast with a bit of fruit spread are all super easy to make one handed (if your kiddo is like mine and needs to be held a lot!). I even throw her in the Ergo or Moby wrap and do eggs, sausage, etc. a couple times a week. I've done smoothies before too but most of the stuff I listed takes way less time0

Also my little one couldn't tolerate much caffeine until about a month or so ago. A couple mommy friends recommended the Super B Complex vitamin. I take one every morning and it really helped keep my energy up until I could add coffee back into my diet. Also, if you like it, Green Tea is a great alternative with a bit less caffeine too.0

cocoa puffs take very little time to prepare in the morning0
