A lot to lose

Hi there,
I'm not new to MFP but new to the forums. It's nice to see others benefiting from this amazing app.
My dieting started when my mother almost lost her life due to a heart issue that was solely caused by being extremely obese. And, they say you get most of your genetics from your mother. My mother's side of the family is mostly overweight and obese. I have a 2 year old kid now and I definitely do not want her to even be near the path that my mother and I are/were on.
I started watching what I ate about a month and a half ago and weight fell off drastically. I cannot believe how much I was overeating and how much of an affect on my body it has. I've lost approximately 22lbs so far and I feel amazing. And I'm not stopping, either! I have an insanely ridiculous schedule that rarely allows time for traditional work out or exercise but I know once I add the exercise into my life, more weight will fall off.
My ultimately goal is to lose 100lbs from here, even after the 22lbs that I've already lost. I have an extremely challenging journey ahead of me, I better start working on it!
Thanks for reading. I love MFP, I couldn't imagine living without it now. :0)

Congrats on your weight loss, and welcome to the boards! )
I'm in a similar situation but my mother is healthy (aside from having hypothyroidism as do I!), but my grandmother is the smallest out of all of her sisters. It's pretty scary! I have a 4 year old and I never want her to struggle the way I have with losing this weight. Slow and steady wins the race girly! We can do it!
Feel free to add me if you'd like!0 -
