Mini NSV

So last night the hubby and went out.. My son dropped us off at karaoke and we were going to get a cab home... Waiting on cab for thirty minutes, we decided to walk. Now keep in mind I have not been on this journey for very long (3wks or so), we got home and I asked the hubster how far did we walk and he said it was about 1.4 miles, and it took us 20 minutes... While not a huge milestone, I will take it... Yay..

That is awesome! There are a lot of people on MFP that have been on this journey longer who can run marathons now, but every single one of them started with just one step in the right direction! I LOVE to walk but right now my hip keeps me from walking more than a mile (I go about a half mile pain free then a half mile with increasing amounts of pain, finally limping down the driveway back home, but I'm still doing it!) but I'm hoping after my hip replacement next month I can get back to more walking as soon as possible. This is a wonderful NSV for you! Congratulations and here's to many more days like that and then some!0

YES!! Walking as transportation -- what a concept, right?? This is a fantastic tool for building up your fitness level. Keep it up! :happy:0

That, dear lady, is NOT a Mini NSV. It is an awesome NSV! I remember not being able to walk a block without having to sit down to catch my breath. When I first took a three block walk while carrying my 2 year old grandson, I had to fight to keep from bawling.
Stoping the smoking will only add to your strength and well being. Make it easy on yourself and get the book, "Easy Way to Stop Smoking," by Allen Carr. I smoked a pack or more a day for over 40 years. On the advice of another MFP peep, I got the book. By the time I finished reading it, I extinguished my last cigarette. No withdrawals, no urges, no gaining weight, no problems. The author explains how you aren't "quitting." You are becoming a non-smoker! Quiting is giving up something. Becoming a non-smoker is so positive and you are gaining all the benefits non-smokers enjoy. Happy trails!0 -
Thanks so much guys!!! I feel so good about it.. It was freaking cold (29), but I didn't wuss out... LOL...
@ gerripho, thanks for the book recommendation, but I haven't had a cig since Dec. 2nd, I think that is another reason I was able to even walk.. No way could I have done it before...0 -
