How to calculate calories burned walking

OK so I don't have a heart rate monitor, nor do I really have the $ to buy one right now, sooooo, what is the best way to calculate my calories burned from walking?? Help!!!

I'm new here, but i figured out that under the exercise tab, there's a data log section that i type in "walking" and it gives you options for brisk, etc.
Hit "add exercise" AND search walking in the data above it! just click on which walk you want and put how many minutes. the computer does the REST! wooohooo!!!

I usually do use this site's database, but sometimes I feel it under-estimates so I was just wondering if there was a better way, thanks for your reply!!
