Christmas

Hey guys! So I reached my first target weight, and have decided to lose an extra 5lbs on top of that
Anyway, since losing the first amount of weight I'm very anxious about putting anymore on, and so christmas has rolled around and inevitably I'm eating more. I've been home a week (uni student) and have tracked my calories- not gone over the amount I need to "maintain" but today, even by just predicting, I'll have gone over by about 500. The days after will probably be a few more...I'm scared! It sounds ridiculus but I don't want to put on weight!! Based on the christmas period how much am I likely to gain?
One of my big worries of gaining is that for New Year I'm meeting my bfs friends from home for the first time and I reaaally want to look my best!
Sorry for the rant but times where I worry about my weight cause me to get a little tetchy and very anxious

I can understand it making you anxious after all your hard work. I think that you're right to focus on maintenance for the Christmas period. Are you able to do any extra exercise where you are to burn more calories? I would suggest reducing calories to your "diet levels" on the other days to compensate for the almost inevitable overeating today and tomorrow. Would that work for you?0

Hiya! Thank you so much for the reply! Yeah I think that's the best idea. I've got a day out on friday that will probably burn a few hundred, and Sunday. Just so much temptation! Haha :P Yeah- thanks so much for your suggestions
Hope you had a good day!0 -
Yep it's easy to put in an extra pound over the holiday with all the goodies and parties. My strategy was continue to exercise, burn extra 100-200, eat less calories in the days that I have a party at night, and be mindful of the amount that I'm eating such that I don't go way overboard.0

Eat what you want and enjoy yourself. I've probably gained a good 5lbs and still planning on eating more tonight. My Christmas lasted 3 days. 3 meals in one day. Tomorrow back to basics.0

You have to eat an extra 3500 cals to gain a pound, so a few hundred here and there won't add up to much. You might find that you bloat a bit/retain water if you're eating more sodium than usual, so it could seem like you've gained more.0
