I have been a memeber for a while now but I haven't started getting any friends and figured the best way was to introduce myself. I am Angel Bushman. I am a 37 year old mother for two teenage kids. I work full time for a company who was just all over TV around the time of the superbowl, Waste Management. In the past three years I have lost two pregnancies at or after 4.5 months. I have not taken ANY of the weight I gained from those two pregnancies off. I have allowed my self to become fat and lazy. I used to care about my apperance and the apperance of my house above all else. I was and basicly still am know for being a bit of a neat freak. I have let the neatness slip a tad though. Hey if I am going to let one thing go (being myself) I sure am not going to keep up on the other (my house). LOL Needless to say the losses put my life in a tail spin and I have been depressed. Now people who see me on a daily basis may not even realize that I am even depressed. I sometimes think I would win an oscar for my daily performance of being a happy person with no worries. When all along I have been dying inside.
I realized recently that my self pitty and loathing are not going to get me any where and that I need to pull myself up by the boot straps and stop pretending and make life a reality.
I have started to find myself again. Slowly but surely!
I have started to count my caloric intake and I have started to exercise. Now I mean started I haven't done any major exercising yet but I have started to walk 2 miles a day under a half an hour. Which for me is huge, cuz I feel huge!!
I would like to get some friends on here so I can get encouragement about my weight loss but also so I can give some also. Please hit me up to be friends.

Well, even though I am not on here every week, allow me to be your first friend! I decided last summer that I need to get off my butt and work at losing weight. I started with WW but couldn't justify the fees after the first few months, so my sister found this site and we find it very helpful. I think the main thing is tracking your food. I've lost 27 pounds so far and even though it has taken me a while to lose it I am very happy about it because I am hoping by losing it slow, I'll be able to keep it off.
So, good luck to you and hope you get a lot more friends for support because it really does help.0 -
Hello there "new in town" I just signed up today and plan on starting my weight healthy self. Like you depression has hit me hard and yet no one around would ever know this. My name is Leisa I am 43 and have 3 girls. Due to issues that have arose in the past year I too have let myself go and my house chores. I could really care less about them, (things are looking up and i am slowly climbing out of the dark) but today I woke up and realized that I am the only one who can fix me. I would like to have a friend or friends to chat with and encourage one another. I would love to invite you to be my friend and we can begin this journey and our accomplishments together. What do you say? :bigsmile:0

Hi there,
My name is Andree and I am 27. I don't have kids but I am in a relationship going on 3 years now. I decided to join MFP in February because I realized that I was spiraling downwards pretty quickly. I have struggled with my weight for the past 10 years and finaly decided that enough is enough and to do someting about it. I have already lost 15 lbs! You can do it too! Once you put your mind to it and take action. Take is a day at a time and in no time you will notice a difference in yourself physicaly but most importantly mentaly.
Welcome and good luck on this new lifestyle. Congrats on taking this first step. We are definetely here to help you along the way.

Hello Angel, I completely understand what you are say! I would love to have a network of individuals who are faced with the same things I am and can relate! I am a 38 year old single mother and after my divorced I found myself letting everything slip away after being betrayed by my husband. It has been 1.5 years since my divorce and I figured I better get myself going again. I have two children, 1 teenager and 1 almost there, they are very active but...not their mom. I use to go, go, go but just have found every reason to not.
Having a group that can motivate each other is a great option. I am new to this but would love to keep going and building that network. Thanks, keep your chin up...we can ALL do it!0
