I've been watching DR Oz and learned about my body type. for my body type I need to eat 50% protein, 30% fat and 20% carbs. I know he says for me to pile veggies high on my plate since their are low carbs. I need some protein ideas other than tuna, beans, fish or weird things like tofu for breakfast, lunch, dinner to encorporate into my eating. for snacks its fruit which I love , nuts, veggies and milk I can handle perfectly of course cheese.
It's the meat ideas for lunch and breakfast where I get stuck.

Boneless skinless chicken breasts. I buy them frozen, thaw in the fridge then divide into three large ziploc bags. I put different marinades on them and let them sit over night. Then you can grill (or broil) them. Save and use through out the week.
You can also make a healthy amount of hardboiled eggs and keep them in the fridge to snack on through out the week. They are tasty sliced on salads too.
For breakfast, I bring in egg beaters to the office. In the morning I pour 3/4 of a cup into a large bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Keep an eye on them. Then you can add a laughing cow cheese or salsa to liven the eggs up. Wrap in a whole wheat tortilla for a more filling meal.0 -
Don't rule out protien powder. Try mixing it on oatmeal (my usual breakfast!) - don't knock it until you try it, it is DELICIOUS!! This brand is fabulous (abouttime)...google it. I laso mix it with plain greek yogurt...you can cook with it....there are a million receipes online.
Cottage cheese
Egg whites
Cheese
Chicken Breast
Smoked salmon
I eat 150 grams of protein a day and have no trouble getting there. I highly recommend the protien powder. The container is about 40 bucks but will alst over a month or two. So that's easy 5-10 bucks a week? Not bad at all. 24 grams of protein per serving.0 -
Again w the powder, you can make pancakes, brownies, just about anything and it's high protien and healthy!!!0
