I have training for my job at a different office tomorrow & thursday and everyone there always has their fridge PACKED so I'll be limited to what I can bring for food. So... I need something that doesn't necessarily have to be refrigerated but will give me the nutrients I need. You can check out my diary to see what I usually snack on. I'll definitely be taking the last 2 fiber bars I have for snacks... possibly popcorn 'cause that keeps me full at lunchtime. I was going to fix my wraps ahead of time but won't be able to now, so I may just put together lunches from home to bring with me, but I'm stuck on snacks.

I'm going shopping after my work out tonight to pick up a couple things but honestly can't think of anything. Almonds will most likely make the list. I'll be there for about 9 hours both days so ALL my food for the day save for dinner will be eaten there.

HELP!

Carrots, Grapes, Sweet Potato Chips, Soy Nuts, are some of the snacks I bring when I have no fridge.

Sweet potato chips sound delicious. Is there a specific brand you buy? I don't think I've seen them in the store. I have sweet potatoes at home. Should I attempt my own?

Some of my favorite snacks include:

"TRAIL MIX" ---- 1/2 cup Wheat Chex Mix + 1 TBSP craisins + 12 raw almonds = about 180 calories
1 Medium Apple + 1 TBSP natural peanut butter = about 160 calories
    1 oz. mozzarella cheese
frozen grapes (yummmy summer snack). I usually freeze 1 cup of red grapes. = about 40 calories
raw almonds (24 almonds is a full serving) = 160 calories
any kinds of fruit (bananas, oranges, apples, strawberries, cantelope, kiwi, etc)

Hmmm... I know I have more I just can't think of them right now. But, my favorite lately is the trail mix....its yummy and filling. I'm exercising so much and I'm so hungry that I actually make 2 zip lock baggies- one for moring and one for afternoon.

Edited to say: I have a small tupperware container that I use to put my peanut butter in...it works perfectly! I usually bring an apple slicer to work and keep it in my desk drawer and wash it once I'm done in the work kitchen. Its handy dandy!

I also like bananas and apples, and you can bring some PB to use with them if you wanted. also I like the individual applesauce cups and some times a fat free or sugar free pudding cup helps with the sweet tooth. these are things I take along. I work 12 hours shifts and sometimes don't get to put things in a fridge either.

If you have an Aldi's around you, you can stop in there and look for Millville Granola bars. They usually have at least 2 different types, though mine and my wife's favorite is the chocolate chip variety. They fill you up for a while, need no fridge, are nutritious, and only 100 calories per bar. Plus you should be able to stick a few in your purse to have on hand if you can't get away to the break room. :)

I agree with bringing fruit like bananas, apples, grapes & oranges! You could also bring some PB to spread on the bananas or apples. If you don't want that, you could just buy some snack bars(granola) from the grocery store that's packed with protein?

I like fat free, sugar free pudding. Also low fat triscuits with laughing cow spreadable low fat cheese.

I was going to suggest almonds! I've been munching dried apricots this week... they are one of my new favs!

You can't get simpler or healthier than Banana's or Apple's.

The problem with the fruit suggestions, are I just don't stay full for very long unless I've got better options. So, I ended up going with pretzels, grapes and then a combination of Triscuits with red pepper & ranch. We had some extra downtime during lunch today in training so I edited my journal for today (forgot to grab some stuff @ the store and had to reevaluate my snacks) and then I'll just have to log exercise. Shimmy tonight, baby!!!!

Thanks for all the ideas, guys! I'll save this for later when I need more ideas. I'll definitely be needing snack ideas once I get tired of the ones I've got now.
