I'm looking into getting a bodymedia device. I love RunKeeper - but I'd like to know how many calories I burn the rest of the day. I was wondering what people's experience has been with the core and the link armbands. I was looking at the link, but didn't know if it would be really worth it... I heard that connection tends to be spotty. Can you still use the iPhone app to log food with the core? Or does that just come with the link? Thanks for any advice!!

  • Get the link. It makes itmuch easier to see how much you've burnt on the days when you are away from the computer. I usually have my bluetooth off but i turn it ona few times a day, link and check. Instead of logging my food on e app i use mfp and then enter the daily estimate on bodymedia after. Ive never used the app for logging food, just the lunp sum of my intake calories but i heard their logging for food doesnt have a lot of choices and i prefer mfp.

I have a bodymedia, been using it since oct. I love it. tracks everything, I don't use the bluetooth phone feature. I also don't track the food diary because I use MFP for that part. I also love that part that allows me to see how I slept. I got my on a special price, and got the band & one yrs computer services for 249.00. They may have some coming up again you know how the 1st of the yr everyone is all hot on the weightloss. good luck!:smile:
  • I've had NO problems with my bodymedia fit LINK!! its AWESOME. i think the problems you are reading about are from the bodybugg. that is one buggy product. i think the developers on the web side need more help and their app was horrendous! you won't have that problem with the bodymedia...it links flawlessly with my iPhone's app and the website is cool as hell! you'll love it.
  • I have the Link and love it. I've had it since Jan. Was most amazed at the amount of sleep that i DON'T get. Food tracking is not very good on Bodymedia so I use MFP to track food then just compare calorie burn to consumption. I haven't lost a lot of weight with body media but it is nice to see how many calories I burn and if I need to step it up towards the end of the day. You can customize your fitness program as well.

I want to get one for my his ban. He has a blackberry through the govt and all apps like this are banned. He has an ipad but isn't going to take it to workout. So does that mean the core is for him since that would be the best way for him to see the display. They have a good deal on it right now plus a coupon. I have an iphone and if I get one for myself I will get the link no question.
