That food you used to hate but now love?

I never liked grapefruit. I tried it several times as a teen and young adult; I tried it warmed with some equal, I tried it cubed up with other fruits but I could not find it enjoyable, or even palatable. I thought it was just one of those healthy foods I would never warm up to, so I stopped trying.

I can't really recall how or when this change happened, but I LOVE grapefruit now! I love it's tartness, it's juiciness, how it satisfies and makes me feel so damn healthy and good about myself… it has become a staple in my eating routine, and it sometimes amazes me. :)

How about you? What food did you used to hate, but now love?

I have developed a taste for grilled fish.
We all want to be healthier, and so I grudgingly tried grilled salmon, tuna and even trout.
It's not a t-bone...lol...but I have learned to love it.

Broccoli. I never really cared for it, not even covered in cheese. Now I crave it!

    Steamed cabbage. Yum!
  • Raisins and cashews...protein, fiber and carbs. Hated both until I needed fuel for running; they fill me up and make me feel great!

    Cottage cheese.
    Broccoli.

Oh, almost forgot. Tomatoes both raw and cooked. I even made and canned tomato soup this year along with stewed tomatoes. The soup came out sooooo yummy. Ummm and feta cheese.

I agree... same with cauliflower. If it 's cooked, I'll eat it with anything.

Lots of things. Mushrooms, cottage cheese, squash, red meat, pork, tuna fish, raisins, red onions, bleu cheese. I don't love them, but all of the sudden I don't despise cucumbers anymore, though every time I eat them, I still think "why the hell am I eating this?"

I still vehemently hate bananas, peanut butter, and grapefruit. I can't get it out of my head that grapefruit tastes like bile.

Definitely broccoli! But I'm still not a huge fan of raw broccoli. This has happened to me with so many foods. Brussel sprouts, shrimp, onions...still waiting on the aha moment for raw tomatoes. Blech.

Mustard. For the longest time, it remained one of the few things that would make me send a dish back in a restaurant. Then I realized that not all mustard is the same and LOVE Maille mustard. I put it in everything I can and it's awesome put on salmon and then broiled.

I wish your experience with grapefruit would happen to me with artichokes. I keep thinking they're something I'll like, try them and hate them. It's weird because I love just about every vegetable in existence.

Have either of you tried full fat versions? I thought the same til I tried the 4% friendship. It actually tastes like cheese. I was shocked. It still looks nasty but it's tasty, especially with pineapple.
