Anyone having trouble shopping for new clothes??

I have always always....even since birth, worn plus sized clothing. I am just now fitting into 16 to 18 misses and a regular xl or maybe still a 1x top.

I am seriously having a hard time going into my usual stores and knowing what the heck to look for. I AM NOT COMPLAINING:bigsmile: BUT>>>this is very strange to me.

Don't EVEN get me started on what size bra I need to wear now......OMG!!!!!

PLEASE SHARE YOUR STORIES!!!! :flowerforyou:

    I hate clothing sizes.

    I'm a size "0" in one pair of jeans...even if I'm up to 115.

    Or if I'm 98.

The difference is, my belly just pokes out and over!!

Sometimes I'm a Medium in a top or an XS in another top...but the same brand.

    BRAS!!! HAHAHAHAAH!!!

"Padded push up" can also mean "super duper porn star can't really move or else things will flop out" or "super duper comfort and your boobs are here to stay".

Ehhhhhh this is why you always buy extra!!! "I love this shirt - must get in 4 colors."

"Love the jeans...must get in four washes...."

Too bad I can never afford four of anything...

Sizing is completely off! I went underwear shopping the other day and a I picked up a size 7 and it said 7/L! When did being a size 7 mean being large? It gives people of all different sizes the wrong idea of a healthy size. *sigh*

my pants are ALL too big right now, but we are trying to save money for our wedding so I dont want to spend big bucks on new clothes. LOL, going to wait until our trip to toronto this summer to see family, then I go so into some fab second hand stores. I am really anti-spending 40-100 on a pair of jeans that will only fit me for a month or so.

Yes, I know what you mean. My pants are super-loose and if i didnt have big hips they'd be at my knees. My suggestion, kerrilucko, is to invest in a belt. It at least keeps pants from being droopy.

hah, well I do have a belt, but although it keeps things up at my waist, the waist gets all bunchy when I wear it, plus I have tons of extra fabric in my crotch and butt......... so very flattering

    HA HA HA....the crotch problem.
After work I went for my usual walk. It was finally warm enough here in Northern Michigan to wear shorts. The crotch of my shorts were hanging just above my knees.
Now my co-worker says she won't walk with me until I start buying some new clothes.

In her defense, it wasn't a pretty sight.

What women doesn't have a hard time finding clothes that fit? The problem is that there are no global sizing standards.... I've even found men's jeans that were supposed to be a 34 waist and they actually measured 37".... is it poor quality or vanity sizing? Probably both.

You can't even count on certain brands having any consistency in the fit. All depends on the style it seems these days. Mucho frustrating at work especially.... one dress must fit the model skin tight, the next has "design ease"

It's been strange shopping since loosing weight. I'm in between sizes now... :grumble: Only thing I can count on is a little spandex in my jeans and to wash them regularly in attempts to shrink them back to size after a couple of wearings.

Anyways... grab a friend and keep trying. It's the only way. :flowerforyou:
